I ordered from the New Peking in November 2024. My first impression was the all too common older restaurant that really needs an update, or at least some work.
You order from behind a plastic window that separates the kitchen and counter area from what is considered a dining room. There are a good amount of booths, it’s very dark, and as earlier stated, needs work.
I ordered the General special. That came with fried rice, soup and an egg roll. I think it was about $13. I feel that was a pretty fair price considering. I also grabbed two cans of soda for another $3. Although I didn’t need the second can, my total for dinner was only about $16 total.
The food itself was okay. It wasn’t bad, but I definitely have had much better. But it did the job. I couldn’t eat it all. It wasn’t bad to eat. And it was pretty cost effective.
I was only visiting the area and will not become a regular customer. But if back in the area, I would consider New Peking again. It’s not the best I’ve had. But is far from the worst. Like I said, it did the job.

I’m in from out of town. I have traveled all over the country, as well as throughout Europe and Asia, including several cities in China itself. New Peking has provided some of the finest Chinese cuisine I remember having in many, many years. Thank you!!!

After ordering two orders of house fried rice and having them delivered, I called the restaurant to speak with a manager regarding the food. There is supposed to be shrimp, chicken and pork in this fried rice and there was little to no meat. It was 99% rice.
The first time I called and asked to speak to a manager, I was disconnected. I called back and requested the manager again and was interrogated as to why I wanted to speak to one. When I told them it was regarding my order that was delivered, they wanted to know what was wrong with it. Again I had to request the manager over and over.
Once I finally got to speak to the manager, he told me he would have to verify the order and he would call me back. That was 3 days ago. I have ordered from this restaurant multiple times but will not do so again.

Ordered through doordash and our large pork fried rice was missing from our order, beef and broccoli container was half full and paid $12.95 for that. Other containers of items ordered were also not as full as all other Chinese takeout we’ve ever ordered. My bag was still sealed when it arrived so it wasn’t a driver issue with things missing, it was the restaurant itself. You definitely get a better value at other Chinese restaurants because you get way more for your money. I’ve included a photo of exactly how empty the $12.95 beef and broccoli was. Ridiculous! I will not be ordering from New Peking restaurant ever again.

Literally the worst Chinese I have ever had. The meal itself was made up of over 75% rice other 20% was onions and it barely had any beef <5%. Will never buy from there again.

Delish. Loved the Crab Rangoon, they are mini but come with lots and are a good amount for the price. Best Sweet and Sour sauce around !

Ordered hibachi steak and shrimp. I 100% positive they switched out the steak for beef tips. The meat what over cooked, super tough, and stringy. Honestly, kind of astonished they would do this. Beef tips and steak, no matter the cut, taste completely different.

Great family owned restaurant with consistent, quick, good Chinese food. I have eaten here for over 5 years and it never disappoints. I accidentally got the wrong order and they fixed it for me and the customer service from the owner was top tier. Recommend this place as a great regular Chinese spot for locals!

I am absolutely not exaggerating whatsoever when I say the house lo mein I got tonight from Door Dash was literally unedible! It was extremely dark and black had a VERY foul smelling odor that made me nauseated! Still like the idiot I am because I paid for it and was 1 o’clock at night and I was starving, I took a bite. Biggest mistake of my life. I spit it out because something was just not right with it. I don’t know what, but I’m saving it to bring to the health department and I will let them analyze it because it was not food fit for human consumption
