New China King in Howell is hands down the best Christmas Chinese food—fresh, delicious, and generously portioned! They saved our holiday dinner, and the staff’s hard work on Christmas Day didn’t go unnoticed. Thank you all for being open and serving up amazing meals when we needed it most! Highly recommend the egg rolls, won ton soup, and classics like orange chicken. A true local gem!

Very good food. Not crazy that they served my entrée & soup in a takeout container, but it made it easier in the end.
I went during a pretty down time & there was only 1 server. Kind of a cross between a take-out & dine-in place. Actually kinda liked it that way!

That Sweet n sour sauce is like no other, delicious!. I had the Chicken Egg Foo Young. Everything was delicious. Some food served on plates and some served in very nice To-go containers. Prices were competitive. You get your money’s worth.

They serve your meal in to go dishes, we did date night and they brought my wife’s dinner and ten minutes later mine and not even a sorry about that or any apology at all . We had bugs flying around our table and the benches were same from 15 years ago but the duct tape looked newer. We couldn’t believe how nasty the ceiling tiles were , almost looked like fur on them . Very disappointed in the restaurants up keep . When we have done the drive thru in the past our meals were of large portions but the dine in portions were not even close to the amount. We hope they turn things around

My wife and I both ordered the lunch combo Almond Chicken. At first I was taken aback by our meal being served in to-go containers, but realized by the end of the meal that it was a great idea because each of us could easily get 2 meals out of the generous portions. Food was great and we can’t wait to try other dishes on the menu. Service was helpful and friendly. One suggestion: I prefer a brown gravy on my Almond Chicken and Egg-foo-young. Just a personal preference. The egg rolls were exceptional.

I recently moved to the area and had to get some carry out for my dinner. Picked up Sesame Chicken Dinner Combination with Chicken Fried Rice and an order of Fried Pork Dumpling. Called in my order and the foods were ready in 15 minutes. My bill was a little over $30, which I felt a bit high. But, the portions were huge that I had enough to share with my teenager son and quality of the foods were outstanding. This will definitly be my go to Chinese take out place going forward.

First time here, and first ever food review I’ve ever left. We went off current reviews, to try this place after for years hearing not so good things. Just got home opened boxes and already not happy unfortunately. Small portions, the white rice was two small scoops, really! Sweet and sour chicken came with sauce in it! Whyyyyyy!? I’ve never been to place where it’s not on the side for carry out. How do you know how much sauce someone likes on their food 🙁 also the gravy for the almond chicken has zero flavor and was clear like broth, again whyyyy!? Soups also beyond bland and sad. So very disappointing for the 25 min drive we made to come here and 25 back. Threw the food out. Both hubby and I say a big no, save your money and your time. >:(

Jackie welcomed us to the New China King restaurant. Family ate here decades. Ago. Closed on Monday always stopped us but a Wednesday allowed us to dine here. The food was absolutely delicious and served on styrofoam plating for ease to take hone any left overs. Wife wanted the fried rice to have more flavor but I felt that would interfere with the main entrees! I cannot wait to reheat my food! Jackie is the nicest waiters multitasking the drive in window, take out and dine in tables. This allowed the cooks to prepare delicious food and the other waitress was just as terrific! I cannot wait to return. Thank Confucius for their tolerance of my terrible Chinese. Why do they always laugh and laugh? Boo How!

The new owners have really turned this place around. Everything is made fresh. Soup and egg rolls were great and the general chicken is one of the best I have ever had. If you were like me and had a bad experience or bad food here before, take my word for it and try it again, you won’t be disappointed.
