Danny, the owner, is warm and friendly when he stops by our table and his wife can COOK.
Food comments: the beef bacon was really good; the fried chicken was flavorful and not greasy. The collards and mac & cheese were southern-approved (I can be a “food snob” about some southern classica.)
The portions are generous and prices are reasonable. The atmosphere was comfortable with great, soulful music. After tasting the cakes we had ordered to take home, my husband said, “Do what you do and start bringing people there. They deserve it.” (That’s high praise from him!)
We had an unforgettable experience and I will 100% be returning.
Unfortunately, I was over charged. I paid $59 for Chicken & Waffles, coffee and 1 Zero Beer.
I asked for an itemized bill so i could review the cost line by line which I was never given. On the menu, Chicken & Waffles $21, coffee $3.00. Did I actually pay over $30 for 1 Zero Beer?
My sister had the same exact meal, with coffee but she had a Long Island Ice Tea and her bill was $40.
When I kindly expressed to the staff member, I think I was over charged, she expressed to me, l am sorry for the cost but your beer is why the bill was more.
I was very disappointed!
The ambiance of the place is stunning, with a setup that’s both inviting and aesthetically pleasing. I also love that it’s a black-owned establishment; the positive energy is truly infectious! It was a bustling Saturday brunch when we visited, and although there was a bit of a wait, let me tell you, it was so worth it!
Our waitress was great —open about the menu and eager to make recommendations. Her kindness and hospitality really stood out, and another waitress pitched in to ensure we had everything we needed. You can really feel that this spot is cherished in the community, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience!
10/10 experience. I’ll definitely be back!

He told us Nettie’s is named after his mother…so sweet!
The place is beautifully decorated, spacious, and clean.
We ordered a pitcher of peach bellini which was peachy, boozy, and sweet.
For brunch, we ordered the Chicken and waffle
Shrimp and grits
Southern Classic (eggs, grits, turkey bacon, and biscuit)
Country Classic ( eggs, grits, catfish, biscuit)
Sweet yams and mac and cheese.
The food is flavorful with the right amount of spices.
The music has mellow vibes.
The bar is on the premises so you can sit at the bar and order alcoholic/nonalcoholic.
Prices are affordable

Kid-friendly
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and waited about five minutes before being seated. My daughter and I got a high-chair table, which was surprisingly comfortable. The service was decent, but at times, I felt a bit forgotten by our waitress—until Mr. Dennis himself stepped in. Not only did he introduce himself, but he immediately recognized us as new faces and made sure our meals arrived promptly. His hospitality was top-tier, making us feel right at home.
Now, let’s get to the real star of the show—the food! We ordered the French toast with turkey bacon, a Country Breakfast, mac and cheese, cornbread, orange juice, coffee, and a red sangria.
✨ The French toast? My daughter devoured the entire plate—no crumbs left behind.
✨ The cornbread? Soft, flavorful, and just the right consistency.
✨ The mac and cheese? Hold up—let’s take a solid three seconds of silence because this was hands-down the best I’ve had. PERIOD.
✨ The catfish? Crispy, moist, and seasoned to perfection.
✨ The eggs? Fried just right.
✨ The biscuit? Fluffy and delicious.
The grits? They lost me—lacking that bold flavor punch the rest of the meal had.
The coffee was strong and bold—Mr. Dennis joked that it’s Starbucks, and honestly, it hit just right. The sangria? Smooth, refreshing, and absolutely delicious.
Overall, this place did not disappoint. Mr. Dennis truly knows how to make guests feel valued, and his attention to detail shows in the food. I’ll definitely be back for that mac and cheese and catfish, and I’m excited to explore more of the menu. If you haven’t been here yet, add it to your must-try list—you just might find your new favorite spot!
I can’t wait to try dinner out.
It’s so exciting to support a solid Black owned local business.
