The food was amazing. A little over seasoned, but I like it that way. I had the bone-in Filet Mignon. My husband’s steak came a little over cooked but they remade it perfect. I highly recommend it. Great job Chef Curtis!! We will be back!

I have eaten at the Nautical Cowboy before and have enjoyed good meals there, unfortunately tonight was not a good night. We were one of only 4 tables of patrons, all small parties. It took quite a long time to get our two entrees and when we did they were less than perfect. It was my moms birthday so she ordered the Maine lobster with risotto, and I ordered the ribeye medium rare. my steak was overcooked, and her lobster was really tough…the staff was nice but I have a feeling someone forgot our food and left it under heat lamps, or maybe just cooked it too long. I’m bummed because the food is usually good, and it was my mom’s birthday. The waitress offered to replace the lobster, she even said they just got in their main lobster today…but we declined the replacement. I probably wont go back…we’ll see.

Perfect spot for a social drink at the bar, intimate dinner, or group gatherings. Great menu selection, there’s an option for everyone. We got the ciopinno-it was great, except one mussel in the dish of many, was bad—filled with sand and rot. Fortunately it did not open and ruin the whole dish. We also had the bacon wrapped fillet, best steak I’ve had in slo county so far. I would come here again, might skip the ‘pinno though. Also— great prices and specials, all wine is half off right now, I’ll definitely be back. Thank you to the friendly, helpful and polite staff—specifically Mike our server, and the Chef! He came out to our table to greet us–a wonderful, forgotten gesture in the food service industry.

Great visit for our anniversary on a Wednesday night. Appetizers were the beet salad, and white fish ceviche. Rack of lamb and bacon wrapped filet for the entree was delicious. (The steak was supposed to be served with risotto, but instead they served it with mashed potato) Tiramisu for dessert was great. Waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was cooked perfectly.

We had the most wonderful dining experience tonight at Nautical Cowboy. My Husband did the restaurant month menu which came with an app, main and dessert. I ordered 2 appetizers. The sirloin steak, wedge salad, beef wellington bites and the flourless chocolate cake were all amazing. We also had the salmon cakes were just okay, the remoulade was really heavy and we would prefer to taste that yummy fresh fish. We both had drinks from the extensive wine and beer list (a stout and an italian sparkling wine). The service was the best part of the meal. Our waiter, Dustin, was very attentive and knowledgable (helping us pick out some low carb items from the menu!). Thank you for such a wonderful evening, we can’t wait to return!

Ordered room service while staying at the Carlton Hotel. We were excited to order from here as we heard a lot of good things but both nights were a bust. The food was mediocre, I ordered the cob salad it was a good portion but the chicken was dry and rubbery and they gave me 2 table spoons of watery dressing. My hubby got the fried chicken dish, the chicken was dry and rubbery and they never even put green beans on the plate. 2nd night we both got spaghetti with meatballs and the meatballs were extremely overcooked. This restaurant should not be associated with such a nice hotel it has a bad reflection on the Carlton.

The restaurant is outdated, furniture is Old and gross, staff was friendly enough, fried chicken was rubbery, beet salad was less than mediocre, I don’t know how you mess up mashed potatoes but they did. We got 5 green beans on our plate, the grilled artichoke was also decent but definitely a mediocre restaurant and unimpressive. Reminds me of a Black Bear diner meets Applebees at best.

This place is a joke. I ordered the ribeye steak medium rare and got it medium well. Normally this is not a big deal but they are charging $58 for their ribeye steak. They also did some kind of Mixed Plate barbecue that was burnt to a crisp because they messed up my wife’s order and tried to throw something out fast. The lemonade taste like swamp water and the mushroom demi glaze looked like something that came out of the garbage disposal. I was very disappointed with my server who was clueless. He kept offering me a free dessert for a $130 ticket that we couldn’t eat. They are trying to be a high-end restaurant but the only thing high-end at this place are the prices. Don’t waste your time or your money!

My husband picked up our dinner tonight for 4 people: 2 ribs, 1 small piece chicken, and 2 pork ribs??? We pre-ordered and food was not ready. Plus, beans and roasted vegetables were cold! We normally get great service and lots of food. So disappointed! Don’t recommend the Family Meal for 4! Hope they do something to ensure better service.
