Brunch is all you can eat for $55 per person, and honestly, it’s such a great value. The dishes come out very quickly, everything is super fresh, and the portion sizes are perfect for sharing between 3–4 people. We got there early, so it was calm and easy to grab a great table, but by the time we were leaving it had definitely picked up it gets busy fast, but there’s still plenty of seating.
The space itself is extremely clean, bright, and decorated in a modern Asian style that feels upscale but still relaxed. And the food? SO good. The standout for me was the matcha pancakes fluffy, flavorful, and honestly the best I’ve had.
Overall, this is a perfect brunch spot on the Wharf with beautiful views, fast service, and delicious food. Highly recommend grabbing an early table and making a whole morning out of it!
The chicken and waffles 3/10 waffles were burnt and chicken was ok. But the chicken Benedict was great took off the egg and it was good cooked perfectly. Crispy Brussels sprouts-2/10 they weren’t crispy it was like they were boiled. Service was good individuals were cleaning consistently and checking in. Just didn’t keep my friends bottomless drinks filled. Place is cute tables could be a lil bigger.
– the miso pork belly hash was all potatoes, hard and undercooked. there was tiny small pinch of pork belly almost unnoticeable. flavor was okay
– pork dumplings: not edible. it had a sour taste and weird texture
– brussels sprouts: good flavor super soggy wish they were crisper
-matcha green tea pancakes: this was decent but sweet but can eat
-spicy salmon roll: good
-octopus takoyaki: was too chewy
-steak and egg: don’t even bother really bland and bad
-smoked salmon: good toast
-french toast: bad
-matcha tiramisu: squishy
other wise service was good the food was just bad, atmosphere was really loud but definitely overpriced and don’t recommend. they charge an extra 3.5 % credit card fee without telling you ahead of time, not sure ifs common for the wharf but a heads up!
I also enjoyed the bottomless mimosas, which were the perfect touch for a lovely brunch experience. Recently, I took my sister, her friend, and another buddy for a midday catch-up, and we all loved the vibes. The ambiance is so inviting, and the atmosphere is super cute in the decor—definitely adds to the charm! The service was solid, too. If you’re looking for an amazing brunch spot, Nara-ya should definitely be at the top of your list!
Also was celebrating some birthdays and accomplishments and we were brought shots and a cute dessert. Love it here
The food was not only beautifully presented but also incredibly flavorful, with each dish being a delightful combination of fresh ingredients and bold flavors. The brunch menu offered a variety of options that catered to different palates, ensuring that every guest left satisfied. The bottomless mimosas were refreshing, never leaving our glasses empty, thanks to Wilson, the ever-attentive drink server.
Special mention goes to David, our server, whose exceptional service elevated the entire experience. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and made us feel genuinely welcomed throughout our visit. Both David and Wilson went above and beyond to ensure our brunch was perfect, striking the ideal balance between professional and personable.
If you’re looking for a dining experience that is as much about the ambiance and service as it is about the food, Nara-Ya is a must-visit. Whether for a special occasion or a relaxing brunch by the water, this restaurant sets the bar high for elegance and quality in DC.
