I have been a customer for years, and I like how this establishment is run. The owners, Karen & Tom, (husband & wife team) are always on site to ensure a smooth operation, and mingle with the customers. Though there are barely any issues, of course with a bar crowd, there is a potential for problems, but the staff makes sure nothing escalates. The security team they hire on the weekends, de-escalate any potential problems quickly, but will make sure nothing serious happens, and will see that a person leaves if they are being unruly. They handle everything without being on a power trip, as some bouncers can be. They are on top of everything, and alert, but also nice and not intimidating, unless they have to be. It is impressive how busy it becomes, but there are never fights, or anything too out of line. Any potential issues are handled before they snowball..The staff is observant..but thankfully, they attract a crowd who normally knows how to behave, so there are rarely unruly customers. All of the staff contribute to a fun, safe environment, and there is a zero tolerance policy for any abuse of the customers and staff. I have always been impressed with how things are handled, even though on Friday and Saturday night, there tends to be a younger, college crowd with a Dj/dancing, so one might expect a lot of shenanigans. Even with it getting very busy, it still remains a safe atmosphere. One of the ways they help keep everyone safe, is to not overserve. People have fun, but you will not find patrons stumbling to their car. They also take underage drinking seriously, and even have an i.d. scanning machine. On Wednesdays, there is karaoke, and that tends to have patrons of a variety of ages, and that is always a good time. Other nights of the week, are more mellow, and a popular place to watch sports games.
The food is really good for a sports bar. Personally, I do not eat meat, but my friends rave about the wings, Philly cheese steak, sliders, and chicken sandwiches. They continue to receive top awards for their wings; year after year. The macaroni and cheese, fish tacos, and potato salad, are delicious. Omg–the mac! It is addicting. They also do offer meatless burgers. They do a really good job on the food, for a sports bar! I know people who actually eat there, every day. My bar is also extremely clean–even the bathroom. They get extra bonus points for managing to keep it sparkling, and smelling good, even when busy.
The bartenders: Kirsten, Ray, and Steve, are awesome. They offer good customer service, are caring, make good drinks, and also take safety seriously. I can tell how My Bar has been mindful of the staff they hire. It really shows! They do not have a high turnover rate, as some establishments. I also like how the owners go out of their way to support other local bars/restaurants, as well as being so appreciative to law enforcement, and veterans.
My Bar is a great place to have fun with a nice crowd, where you will always feel safe, and cared about.
