First time trying authentic Thai style charcoal bbq and hotpot and I loved it! Known as Muu Ka Ta, this is cooking method that combines barbecue with hot pot on a domed tabletop grill with meat/seafood placed on the top surface and food like fish balls and noodles cooked in a broth around the dome. I love that the juices from the grilled meat drip into the broth adding more flavour
The chefs selection for 2 people ($65) is so worth it and comes with meat, seafood, vegetables and noodles/rice. I also recommend trying their soy marinated salmon and Tom Yum fried rice. They also have a wide selection of drinks like Thai beers and Thai iced tea. Great spot for dinner time with friends!

This local Thai BBQ place is truly a hidden treasure in the Richmond. This was my first experience at Thai charcoal bbq and I will definitely come back. We got the Muukata large set and it was definitely enjoyable for the both of us. The ribeye was the highlight of the meal as it was tender and well flavored. The service was exceptional as the waitress guided us through the different sauces and condiments available as well as helping us start off with the grilling. Overall a great experience. I would recommend either making a reservation for the charcoal grill if you are looking to come in as a large group or if you do not plan to come when they opening.

This Thai BBQ spot in SF is an absolute gem! The food is packed with bold flavors—highlights include the Lek Pla-Ra, an incredible mix of rice noodles, shrimp, squid, and a tangy fermented fish dressing, and the Grilled Beef Intestines, which were perfectly smoky and tender. The three house-made dipping sauces, especially the cilantro-lime chili one, elevated every bite. The ambiance is vibrant and full of warm, Southeast Asian street-food vibes. Service was friendly and attentive, with great recommendations. Perfect for group dinners or a fun night out. If you love smoky, spicy, and authentic, this place won’t disappoint!

Came w a friend for early dinner and we ordered the Larb salad which was really tangy and extended spice flavor, which I loved. We also got this short rib soup which I can’t remember the name but was both our favorite dish, we got the heat level at regular and the broth was so rich and wasn’t overwhelmingly spicy but still had enough heat to get us sweating. My friend got the Thai friend rice which was his second favorite and I got the spicy udon noodles which were very delicious fresh but after sitting for like 20 mins started to get too soft, still had great flavor tho!

Came here for lunch. Ordered the chef’s selection grill + hotpot and it was good! We really liked the sauces and soup base, and thought the chicken was the best meat. Pricey, but that’s to be expected. Would come again.

This place is surprisingly amazing. They have charcoal for bbq grill. We had a large group without reservations, so we couldn’t experience the charcoal, but the food was still pretty good. The food is so authentic like those street food in Thailand. The grill and hot pot experience was different, and we loved it. They have free Thai milk tea for check in on yelp. The service was quick and our server was friendly with great explanation and recommendations. This place deserves more than 5 stars

Exactly as what previous highly rated reviews had said – great food and service! The hot pot is delicious, with a tom yum-type soup that will leave you finishing the pot clean.
Highly recommend the fried noodles or rice, both have beautiful wok-hei flavour and a bit of Thai sourness to make it stand out against other cuisines versions. Definitely go with a big group to try most of the menu!

This first Muu Kata I’ve had outside of Thailand! Super authentic. The meat are super tender, fresh and juicy. The two sauces are very authentic as well. The tangy and refreshing seafood sauce pair super well with the meat. Love that it’s a BBQ and hotpot combined.

This is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in SF! Please give their garlic rice a try, it’s amazing! The bbq pork is perfect, and so is the rest of the meat. I wasn’t expecting for this place to be so good, but they beat my expectations. The homemade sauces were incredible!
The place was packed, and the staff was very friendly in navigating us through the menu.

Fun and casual experience with tasty food. The seating and tables are fairly cramped but it’s hard to resist the great vibe. Seemed like everyone, including ourselves, was having a blast. We mostly got barbecue and hotpot and loved the flavors. Would definitely like to return to try some other dishes now that we understand the concept a bit better.
