Mutuswami Cafe is located just outside Dadar East railway station, so it’s very easy to find and perfect for a quick stop after travel. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, which is nice if you want to sit comfortably or just grab something quickly.
We tried the strawberry milkshake & mango milkshake both were thick, chilled, and refreshing. The paper masala dosa was big, crispy, and came with good chutney and sambar. Kanchipuram idli was soft and flavourful, a little different from regular idli and worth trying.
Cheese tava rice was spicy, cheesy, and filling good if you’re very hungry. We ended with pineapple sheera, which was warm, slightly sweet, and had a nice fruity taste.
Overall, it’s a good place for South Indian food and quick snacks near the station.

This one has become our most favourite go to place whenever close to Dadar East Station.

They have indoor and outdoor seating. Post 8 pm it’s a busy schedule for the restaurant so go a bit early to get the best available table of the house.

Our food recommendations.

Podi Idli:
You have to visit this place to experience this extraordinary delicacy of the house .

Benne Masala Dosa:
This one won’t disappoint you if you are fond of benne then definitely give this a try.

Pav Bhaji:
Again a house supremacy. Spicy and Tangy burst of flavours with every bite .

The Mango Milkshake was rich and thick . Even their cold coffee has a supreme vibe.

Pineapple Sheera .
When at a South Indian cuisine specialist restaurant then you can’t miss this legendary dish . Indeed a heavenly experience.

Overall a delightful experience as always.

Happy and Safe Fooding Until Next Time.

If you’re in Dadar and craving authentic South Indian flavors any time of the day, Muttuswami Cafe is the place to be!
This is the only café in the area open 24/7, making it a perfect spot for early breakfasts, late-night cravings, or casual meetups at any hour.
The food quality is outstanding, with every dish served fresh, flavorful, and satisfying:
Cheese Pav Bhaji – perfectly buttery with a generous layer of melted cheese that elevates the classic taste.
Podi Idli – soft, bite-sized idlis coated beautifully in spicy podi masala and ghee.
Muttuswami Special Benne Dosa – rich, crispy, and soaked in butter with a delicious traditional touch.
Spring Dosa – a unique fusion twist, crispy outside with a flavorful stuffed filling inside.
Fruit Custard Dessert – creamy, refreshing, and loaded with fresh fruits for the perfect sweet ending.
Their fresh juices are equally impressive — especially the pomegranate juice and the orange-mosambi mix, both refreshing and naturally sweet.
What truly makes the experience special is the warm and polite staff. The service is quick, attentive, and always delivered with a smile. The beautiful interiors create a clean, cozy, and welcoming atmosphere, making you want to sit back and enjoy your meal.

“Had an incredible meal today! The Mutuswami Special Bene Dosa was the absolute star-perfectly crispy and buttery. We paired it with the Podi Idli, which had just the right amount of spice kick, and a super cheesy Cheese Onion Uttappa. Topped it all off with a thick Cold Coffee to beat the heat. If you’re looking for authentic flavors with a modern twist, this is the spot!”

Above and beyond service. Manager and staff were really polite and helpful. I personally felt really happy. We’re a large group and we sat for sometime after finishing lunch. But still, we weren’t disturbed by staff until it got really busy.

Food could be better. Medu vada was not good. Benne dosas could be better as well. Coconut chatni and thate idli were nice.

Ambience was good as well.

Overall experience was good and I’ll surely recommend it.

Their benne dosa, despite being highly recommended by them, was quite disappointing — it tasted more like an uttapam and didn’t resemble an authentic benne dosa at all. However, their podi idli and Mysore masala dosa are outstanding and definitely worth trying.

A lovely pure-veg restaurant located near Dadar (East) station, known for its South Indian dishes. The ambience is warm, the food tastes great, and the staff is extremely humble and courteous.

While the prices are slightly on the higher side, the overall dining experience feels satisfying.

The place tends to get overcrowded on weekends, which slows down the service, so better to visit on weekdays if possible.

Overall, a good spot for delicious South Indian food with friendly service.

Situated in proximity to Dadar Terminus, Mutuswami offers a proper taste of of authentic south indian food along with desserts and beverages. It is an easy to locate restaurant that has plenty of accomodation available as it provides in door as well as out door sitting. We tried the Masala Uttapam and Masala Dosa which really took us on to a trip to South. Hygiene is maintained excellently. The menu is also budget friendly. This can no doubt be a good to place along with friends and family. However i personally felt that the service was quite slow but still at the end we exited happily.
