Great place, I would only recommend to put less rice on sushi rolls, everything else is good.
My favorite the shrimp boat

Absolutely the best sushi in Grants Pass!

This place is hands down the best spot for sushi in town. For larger parties, I recommend ordering ahead so you have some starters ready when you arrive — it makes the experience even smoother. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, respectful, and an absolute pleasure to be around.

My son, an aspiring chef, was amazed by the artistry and plating expertise. We celebrated my other son’s 21st birthday dinner here, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Everything from the food to the atmosphere was exceptional. We’ll definitely be back!

Great service but not-so-great food. Arrived just after 5:00pm on a Saturday and waited about an hour for our food. To be fair, our waiter warned us of the wait, stating that there was a large to-go order and a big group order placed ahead of us. We ordered the edamame and sesame balls as an appetizer while we waited. Our waiter was very friendly and we were treated kindly by the other staff during our visit. Ordered the Hayabusa Roll, R&R Roll, Unagi, and the Oyako Don (rice bowl with egg, chicken, and onions). Seemed like the sushi rice was unseasoned and the Oyako Don lacked flavor. Enjoyed the Hayabusa Roll although the pieces were very large and awkward to eat in one bite. Prices were reasonable but the flavors just weren’t what we were expecting. The atmosphere was very modern, cool, and noisy. Plenty of street parking and also a free parking lot for The Haul restaurant nearby.

We visited Musashi for lunch right when they opened, eager to see if it lived up to the praise we had heard. The service stood out, our server was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all our menu questions.

The Food
• Chicken Gyoza – A standout appetizer! Light, crispy, and packed with excellent chicken flavor. The sauce was a perfect complement.
• California Roll – Fairly standard but enjoyable. The rolls were on the larger side, which made them a bit tricky to eat in one bite.
• Spider Roll – Delicious! The crab flavor was rich, and the crunchy texture added a nice contrast. A drizzle of eel sauce would have taken it to the next level.
• Yam Tempura Hand Roll – Another highlight. The sweetness of the yam paired beautifully with the other ingredients, while the crispy texture played well with the cucumber and the sweet-tangy sauce.
• Apple Pie Gyoza – A perfect ending to the meal. Light, warm, and crispy, with a delightful apple pie flavor that made for a fantastic dessert.

Overall, Musashi delivered a great dining experience with excellent service and some standout dishes. We’ll definitely be back to try more!

My favorite sushi restaurant in town! Most authentic tasting ramen I’ve had in years as well. I absolutely recommend this place to everyone I know who loves quality food. The servers and bartenders are always so sweet and provide great service. When little human mistakes do happen (which is a reality for any restaurant that’s packed during a weekend dinner rush!) they are quick to rectify the situation and super helpful, always making sure that you’re satisfied with the solution and overall experience in the end. Definitely not super easy to fit larger groups in here though. If you’re going to show up with more than 4 people, expect a wait unless you call in the morning to make a reservation first. I also wouldn’t say this is the place for a quick meal, as they’re very popular and if you go during a busy time of day it’ll take a bit longer to get your meal. What I would say though is the wait is absolutely worth it because they’re clearly taking their time making quality food that you’re sure to enjoy.

Thank you for ruining our valentines day dinner. We had reservations for 5pm, after and hour and 15 minute wait we were told our food was still several tickets being and once they got to our order it would take another 25 additional minutes minimum to make. We had to leave hungry in order to make it to our 7:30pm comedy show at 7 feathers. If you know your going to be so extremely busy even for customers who made reservations I suggest you either staff accordingly or book you reservations according to the actual volume you can handle. Be considerate of your customers time on special holidays as most of us have more planned and cannot wait 2 hours for sushi. We have visited mushashis for over a decade and we will not be back.

Madison, Ryan, and all the Chefs and employees in the back that work so hard and Creatively. Ducky and I had a great experience. The Quality of food and service and Price as well make this place a great value. Only restaurant with a Badea in one restroom.
The Ramen, Tempura, Agadashi Tofu and Roll as well as the best Unagi I ever had.
My thanks and Happy Holidays to all. We were just passing through and I hope this revue lets all know. Now and Forever!!! Grants Pass has a great Japanese Restaurant. Rivaling any Major City.
Our Thanks to all.
Sincerely
John Grey and Ducky Stuart

The bartender made an off-putting comment about how my bill was the cheapest she’d ever seen at the restaurant, noting that most customers spend over $40. I ordered both an appetizer and an entrée, including two add-on charges, which was more than enough food for one person, so I’m not sure how she expected me to spend more. I don’t drink alcohol or soda, so she may have been bothered by the lost up-charge opportunities, and I was dining on a limited per diem while in town for work. It’s awkward to try to make customers uncomfortable for not spending more money at the restaurant you work at.

If you are looking for sushi rolls that are over priced and have a small amount of meat and a large amount of rice. Look no further! My wife and I ordered 4 different sushi rolls. All 4 rolls had what we considered a small portion of inner filling (meat). The fish portion on top was adequately sized
The sushi rolls also seemed over priced by $2-4
Service was fair
