Went for lunch recently and from the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted and encouraged to sit wherever we liked. From spacious tables to giant booths there were so many choices that wasn’t just bar stools.

Our server was very attentive and pleasant vibe. Was full of information about the area and the questions we asked.

Decided to start with soft pretzels with a beer cheese-like dip. The soft pretzels (3) were like small baguettes. Well coated with large pretzle salt and had a well browned, crispy outside and deliciously soft inside. The dip complimented them perfectly.

One dish was the fish (haddock) tacos served with a side of slaw. The fried haddock was cooked perfectly. Light breading with soft sweet large flaky white fish meat. The slaw had such wonderful flavors that we put it on the tacos themselves and really enjoyed the complex flavors and textures it created.

The other dish was their taco salad. A wonderfully fried airy taco bowl filled with chopped romaine hearts and typical salad fillings with red salsa and sour cream. You get to choose your protein and we picked the ground beef. It had good seasoning, and not overly spiced. I really enjoyed how light and crispy the bowl was but also how easy it was to enjoy the salad as a whole.

They encouraged us to return for some live music and was gracious when I had to take a business call during the meal and was a really good experience. We’ll be back to try all the other things on the menu.

I want to bring to your attention a deeply concerning experience I had at Mulligan’s Irish Pub, located in Barre, and feel it is my responsibility to share this information for the safety of others. Before crafting this review, I reached out to the restaurant directly to address my concerns, but unfortunately, the response was not satisfactory.

During my recent visit, I discovered metal a shard in the burger I was served, posing a serious risk to my health and safety. Acting responsibly, I immediately contacted the restaurant to express my concerns and seek an explanation.

Despite my efforts, the response lacked the urgency and concern one would expect in such a situation. This prompted me to take further action, and I subsequently contacted both the local health and safety department and the federal authorities to report the incident. It is disheartening that the lack of a thorough investigation and a genuine apology from the restaurant has left me deeply disappointed and concerned about the safety of other patrons.

This incident raises serious doubts about the safety standards at Mulligan’s. I strongly discourage dining at this establishment until they address and rectify these safety concerns. The presence of foreign objects in the food signals a lapse in quality control measures.

Furthermore, with the local health and safety department and federal authorities informed, I hope that necessary actions will be taken to address and prevent such incidents in the future.

In the interest of public safety, I find it imperative to share this experience and caution others about the potential risks associated with dining at Mulligan’s. I encourage everyone to prioritize their health and well-being by choosing establishments that prioritize customer safety.

Please exercise caution and reconsider before choosing Mulligan’s for your next dining experience.

Amazing fish tacos, great burgers and sandwiches all for a super affordable price. Inside the building is like pitch black, not sure why that appeals to anyone… but eating outside is nice! Quick service. Been to almost all the locations and they all get 5 stars so far.

Blackened haddock and Cobb salad were repeat orders for 2 of us so obviously those are favorites. Generous servings in the fish tacos and very tasty. They would benefit from some avocado in them. The Rachel sandwich was good but slaw would be better on the side rather than on the sandwich.

The server was so sweet as we had several kids in our party.
The food was great and the Pub was decorated so beautifully for Christmas.
I rarely go to eateries who don’t decorate for Christmas and this was gorgeous

No dogs allowed. We were seated on the outside patio with our small dog (a friendly King Charles Cavalier) on a nice Saturday in October. Then told we had to leave because they couldn’t allow the dog. Unfortunate as there was nobody else on the patio. It looked like a nice place but isn’t dog friendly at all.

Fish tacos were good. Coleslaw was great. Good local beer selection – we tried the Strawberry Whalecake (upon recommendation from server) and it was pretty good.

Gave them three stars, should be five stars but apparently to according to the bartender in the picture they have an anti-gun policy. He just walked in and came to us ( me and my better half) and just said umm, we have a no gun policy. Being a private place we just put them in the truck. Just Very unaware of this, no signs and we have carried open and concealed here many times. Very confused I think it more or less it’s the guy‘s feelings versus a policy (Must hate guns) what has this world become? He feels comfy with a child at the bar as dad drinks aside! On to better places I guess and spending about $200 a week. We love the place and food is great but that’s just wrong. There’s no policy, in that case they would have signs one would think. Oh by the way, McKenzie is amazing.
