The ingredients used were definitely fresh and well prepared, each dish offering a bit of a twist from tradition. The course also starts off with a hand roll and finishes with a soup, which normally would be the other way around in more traditional omakase.
The service was wonderful and the chef Bo who served us was amazing and took time to explain the foods and some of the concept to us throughout the meal, allowing us to appreciate the food more.
The ambiance is relaxed and the restaurant has a modern interior and look.

Their menu came with a pickled radish toro handroll, Katsuo as the appetizer and ten different sushi rolls – Madai, Kampachi, Hotate, Kurodai, Zuke Salmon, Akami, Toro, Anago, Dashimaki, Miso soup and desserts.
Overall, it was a lovely dining experience. We appreciated how each piece was served individually, allowing us to truly savour the flavours. Every sushi bite was incredibly fresh, and the quality was evident throughout. Definitely worth the money.
The attention to detail was lacking — there were no clean plates provided between courses, some of the presentation felt sloppy, and the dishes didn’t really showcase individual artistry from the chef. I was also disappointed by the absence of seasonal ingredients, which is usually a key part of a strong omakase experience.
Considering we’re in Toronto and not Japan, some differences are understandable. That said, Toronto has no shortage of excellent sushi options, whether you’re looking for AYCE or à la carte. Compared to what’s available locally, this omakase doesn’t really stand out. In my opinion, the experience simply isn’t at the level that justifies the price, and you’re better off dining elsewhere — but that’s just my personal take. However, if you’re looking to try an omakase experience for the first time and at a decent price point, go for it. Still makes for a nice date night.
I want to start by highlighting the service, because the chef in particular was excellent. The chef was polite, attentive, and constantly checking in to ask how everything was tasting. They took the time to explain each piece of sushi in detail, including what it was, the type of fish, and how it was prepared, which I genuinely appreciated. The chef also kindly asked multiple times if my friend and I wanted to try anything additional, but we declined. From a service and hospitality standpoint, the experience at the counter was very well done.
Unfortunately, the quality of the food itself is where things fell apart. The fish was extremely underwhelming and, quite honestly, unpleasant. Everything tasted overly fishy, lacking freshness and balance. This wasn’t limited to the sushi alone. Even the green tea dessert had a fishy taste, which was very odd and made the ending of the meal even more disappointing. It just wasn’t enjoyable.
For an omakase experience, I expect clean, refined flavours and fish that feels fresh and thoughtfully sourced. Instead, I found myself forcing bites simply to avoid seeming rude at the table. Rather than looking forward to each course, I couldn’t wait for the experience to be over.
At nearly $100 per person, the value simply wasn’t there. I’ve had better sushi at all you can eat restaurants for half the price, and I don’t even consider all you can eat sushi to be good for the most part. That comparison alone speaks volumes.
While I truly appreciated the chef’s kindness, professionalism, and the effort put into explaining each course, the poor quality and strong fishy taste of the food made this experience unenjoyable. Because of that, I wouldn’t return.
The fish was incredibly fresh, the service was very friendly, and most of all, Alex was amazing.
It’s a place I definitely want to come back to.
