BBQ pork rice over rice $17.05 (includes tax) take out. The BBQ pork tasted OK. It was juicy, tender and had a sweet glaze. The restaurant was empty at 7pm. In terms of service, the three workers were just hanging out with no work.

This is one of those typical Cantonese style restaurant with rose duck and roast pork plus叉燒肉.
the flavorite of each dish are lacking. The soup base for wonton soup and noodle taste like plain water.
Their roast duck taste average at the best, it’s more like below average at a typical Cantonese restaurant.

Pretty solid spot if you’re looking for good Chinese BBQ. Some of my favorites from here are their black pepper beef chow fun, spicy garlic fried chicken wings as well as their fish filet. Their portions are huge. Such a bang for your buck. Food came out pretty quickly too. I went around 2pm on a Saturday and it was still relatively busy at this time. If you’re looking to order take out, highly recommend calling ahead. Parking is a huge plus in my book. Accepts cards too.
Again, highly recommend the dishes I mentioned above!

Don’t come for the ambience but do come for Canto comfort Chinese food. This is as local as it can be. The whole ambience is a reminder to those greasy, savory, comforting food I grew up enjoying. The best items are the bbq items in combo with a wonton noodle soup, finished with a plate of stir fried vegetables or the “ho fun” or broad rice noodles with shrimp and egg sauce. I enjoy browsing the menu but most of the time I end ordering the same dishes.
If I were to have a last meal, my usual from Mr Fong would be it.
As I tell my family: “Mr. Fong can’t go wrong.”

Some of you might look at this first picture and be grossed out! Others of you like me will salivate at what the final masterpieces of duck and pig will be.
Mr. Fong in Daly City is another spot in Bay Area known for their succulent ducks and crispy and juicy roast pork to serve your Chinese BBQ cravings! I’m here for this!
But, some friends wanted Crispy Hk style combo chowmein and this place does a decent job. Sweet and sour pork, not bad. The salted fish and chicken fried rice was really good and was the standout dish for this night. It helps that the chef and owners are from “Toisan village” in China and this is one of their signatures.
I have not eaten inside the restaurant since before the pandemic. But let’s be real, the service used to mediocre and you are not here for service. Food was ” ok for a weekday lunch or dinner”. Nothing fancy or rave about. I will come back for dine in again.
Parking is hit and miss due to being in a crowded shopping center.

Good food but the price is not right. Small portions for $20 plates. Extremely rude services, tips are enforced even when eating alone. No one speaks English, the cooks look dirty and angry. The only thing keeping them alive is that they haven’t renewed their lease.

The business hours posted says 10:30am to 8:30pm. I went in at 2pm, all the staffs are eating lunch and told me to wait for 10-15 minutes before someone is free to help. The management needs to have better scheduling system. How can you send all your staffs to lunch and say you are open for business?

Mr. Fong’s is my gold standard for this type and price range of Chinese food and dining environment. I haven’t found a comparable place in this area as of yet. This place isn’t cheap chinese food, but more of a medium ground for pricing, and the food is outstanding for its price. We ordered four dishes/plates and the total came out to be $55 before tax and tip. Service is average and acceptable for this type of restaurant. They seat you, take your order, bring your food, and then your check when you’re done eating. Nothing fancy and nothing that’s missing for what you’re paying for. There’s also take out, which is a very popular choice. I have not ordered anything that didn’t meet or exceed expectations (except one day out of countless visits). Portions are larger than expected. Highly recommended and a must try if you’re in the area.

I asked for the BBQ pork and duck with the flat egg noodle. I was given this after having to inquire about my order. They didn’t want to change it because it was already made. Feels as though I was given someone’s dish as the noodles were barely warm.
