Honestly if I could have given this place a 1/2 star I would have. This place has certainly gone down hill over the years and makes a prime example of why I would rather just cook my own food. I ordered the family dinner and first of all I was very reasonable with them being out of chicken breast and having to substitute with chicken thighs, then out of a biscuit having to give me a corn muffin. Let’s start with the fries and okra I ordered. They were the most tasteless things that looked and tasted like they dipped them back in the grease to recook them. The mashed potatoes were okay I guess but again tasteless and the gravy was straight water that it poured down the drain with no struggle. I was better off going to grab a dollar box of Mac’n cheese from the Dollar Store it would have tasted better. I have no clue what is going on Mr.Chicken but get it together. I don’t write many reviews but that was disgusting! My kids said the chicken was okay but cold and felt like it was sitting there for awhile. I’ll take a hard pass next time sorry.

I visited this store between 12pm-1pm on April 29th. I ordered the 4 piece whole wing dinner with fries, coleslaw & a corn bread muffin instead of a biscuit. For $12.99 I received coleslaw (smaller bowl than usual), mashed potatoes, an old hard biscuit & some of the smallest wings I’ve ever seen in my life!! Unbelievably small!! I was able to hold the entire bag of wings in one hand almost closing it!! I went inside, spoke with the manager who refused to change my order or refund my money. The only option she offered was to give me 1 extra wing which I’m sure would’ve been as small as the others.

Not the same, at all. I first off want to say that the only reason I stopped at Mr.Chicken was that I was recently visiting Willoughby after moving out of the state and wanted to taste that good ol’ chicken that I remember having 5+ years ago. However, I was wrong. This experience was not what it use to be. The girl at the drive-through was so nasty. She claimed they did not have any tenders or fries in stock and the only thing available was wings. I couldn’t believe that a company that advertises itself as a “chicken fast-food restaurant “ could be out of tenders or fries. The nastiness of the young girl’s attitude at the counter made me just drive off and never look back.

On Thursday, June 8th, because I was in the area and used to love Mr Chicken, bought a 12 piece for $25.99. Got home, about 17 miles away, the chicken was TOO salty to eat. I ate a small wing and my partner tried to eat a breast. Neither piece was palatable. So, I go back the next day and explain to the lady, that the chicken was too salty to even try to eat. She was nice and professional enough, explaining that Mr Chicken does use a lot of salt, and if it’s not mixed correctly, the chicken will be salty. She gave me 12 more pieces (no wings at all though), and it was the same thing. I’ve just decided, I won’t be going back to Mr Chicken unless I’m trying to raise my blood pressure, or create high blood pressure in my family. Not sure what Mr Chicken’s fascination is with salt, but they could cut what they use in half, at least cut it by a quarter. All that salt does absolutely nothing to enhance the flavor of the chicken, and in fact, makes it inedible. As much as I used to love Mr Chicken, and I do mean love, I will not be going back again. Number one, I don’t want to have a heart attack, and number two, who has $26, to throw away? I know I don’t. I’ll continue buying my fried chicken from Giant Eagle, they rarely miss the mark. All that time, gas and money, and I still can’t eat the chicken. Gave it 3 stars, because the lady at my return was professional, definitely not because of the food. Also, during my original purchase on June 8th, the young lady at the drive thru window, was quite unprofessional, becoming annoyed when I had trouble finding the fries on the menu. She needs some customer service training.

Good food done right. Staff is professional, pleasant and patient. I was treated like a valued guest, not just another drive-thru order. Mr. Chicken is the David in a neighborhood of two chicken Goliaths in this sprawling retail/healthcare neighborhood. Do yourself a favor and don’t count regional favorite Mr. Chicken out of the chicken game.
