Really really enjoyed this Mo’s location!
It’s absolutely beautiful, sitting by the window looking onto the river, taking in the lovely sunset.
My daughter & I had clam chowder which did not disappoint, one of the best clam chowder I ever did have. And we were impressed with their chicken Alfredo. The gentlemen & lady that were our servers were the most pleasant people.
We absolutely loved it here! ❤️

I love the place. It is really good food and a very reasonable price for seafood. The views of the Columbia river are amazing. Staff is nice. Service is pretty good.

I stopped by about 7:15-7:30 on Tuesday night and was the only patron. For dinner, I had Mo’s Kolsh, cup of clam chowder, and blackened fish tacos.

My server, Jennifer L. was awesome… friendly, gregarious, efficient!
Mo’s Kolsh, great tasting beer but $6.75/pint! If I come back, it’s because of Jennifer.

Cup of clam chowder: good flavor, not enough clam and too much potato and grit for my liking. Seemed more like potato soup made with dirty potatoes (it did taste good though).

Blackened Fish Tacos: The fish didn’t appear to have been ‘blackened’ (at least not by Louisiana standards) and the flavor was so mild that I could not taste it over the slaw in the taco. The tacos were served with a red salsa like you’d get at a Mexican restaurant… a bit odd in my opinion.

Atmosphere: it was dark, so no view (not Mo’s problem!), picnic table and benches not comfortable.

If I come back, it would be to say hi to Jennifer… The beer is too expensive and the food, tonight, was forgettable (I hope ).

Sorry, Mo’s; not a good night, tonight.

So.. visiting a Mo’s is almost a tradition for me every time we go to the beach. Friday at lunch time though, very busy. The server and cashier were friendly, but it was over 30 minutes to get my entree, and I felt it. The cod was excellent but fries could be a little more crispy, though still tastes good. The food isn’t bad at all, it’s just not award winning. Obviously you need to get the chowder if it’s your first time, but for me I’ve been dozens of times between all the locations. I’ll continue going, but I wanted to be honest about it. Bonus points for me seeing a seal out the window.

Mo’s gets a lot of flack for being a chain restaurant on the Oregon coast- but I will say the service, food, atmosphere, and vibes overall at this location were all great. We got seated promptly, waters, asked for a drink order quick as quick could be. Food came out in a reasonable timeframe and tasted good, looked good, and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The food was also consistent across the board. We enjoyed getting to sit on the dock area and seeing the boats on the river with our meal, it was really enjoyable. We would come back to this location!

Your regular, family friendly, ever-so-kitchy chowder restaurant. Plenty of options both fried and fresh,l.

I got the “Cannonball” chowder which was a properly large bread bowl of lovely white clam chowder with big chunks of clam meat and a great herbal/sage flavor.

We also enjoyed a couple oyster shooters which were perfectly freshly shucked and served quickly.

Whomever reviewed the food here and claimed it was ‘bland’ must have been a chain smoker or suffering post-COVID taste loss. Everything was tasty and well made.

This was my first time here and was absolutely thrilled about eating here. The best clam chowder I have ever eaten in my life. I’m almost 50 and I have high expectations. Our service was great the atmosphere was my favorite part. Windows all around, the views were spectacular. I highly recommend this spot.

Best clam chowder ever and Dawson and the host were exceptional. Beautiful views, clean restaurant, great gift shop. The grilled shrimp and fries were amazing. My friends and I had a great dinner and will recommend this place to everyone visiting Astoria.

The overall experience was pleasant, though the food left a bit to be desired. The waitress was sweet and attentive, as was the rest of the team, which made us feel well taken care of. The location is lovely, we sat out on the back decking overlooking the river and even spotted a sea lion swimming past, which was a real highlight.

As for the food, it was just okay. The fish was soggy on the bottom and a bit heavy. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite live up to the high 4-star overall rating the place currently has.

In short, the atmosphere and service were wonderful, but the food didn’t quite match the rest of the experience.
