Montana’s BBQ & BAR is a Canadian comfort food BBQ restaurant and sports bar. Enjoy in-house smoked pork ribs, beef brisket, grilled steaks and juicy burgers which are paired perfectly with catching the game. Montana’s Brooks celebrates fun-to-eat, finger-licking smoked and barbecued comfort food that breaks the ‘proper’ rules. Located near Lake Stafford Park and Heritage Inn Hotel & Convention Centre in the North end of the city off of the Trans-Canada Highway. Montana’s in Brooks is a great place for a relaxed meal. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it good for families and small groups. Not the best experience. Steak came out so cold that it would not melt the butter, they forgot the onion rings on top, the baked beans were mostly liquid and barely half full and the 2 added shrimp skewers came out just as one with less shrimp. Montana’s has always been great, but this one disappointed. The service was great and they did comp my meal and that was very much appreciated.

I would like to express my gratitude to Berlin for the exceptional service. The evening started with a warm welcome and a smile that immediately brightened my spirits after a challenging workday.
The drink selection was quite impressive. As a bourbon fan, I was pleasantly surprised by the options available compared to most widely known chains, and Berlin’s recommendation of the Makers brand was spot on.
For my meal, I ordered what I believe was called the pitmaster platter or sampler. It included a half rack of ribs, hot wings, and brisket, accompanied by a side of fries. I opted for the supreme baked mashed potatoes instead of fries. Berlin suggested the apple BBQ sauce with the ribs, which I found to be the highlight of the meal. While the hot wings were what is describe to be mild for a toddler, their flavor and crispiness were excellent. The brisket, however, was disappointing. As someone who appreciates a good brisket, I was surprised by the absence of a smoke ring, and it was rather dry and chewy. Had I known, I would have requested to substitute it for either a full rack of ribs or additional wings. Furthermore there was no horseradish or spicy mustard to even attempt a revival
Despite this, the service truly made up for the brisket. Given that the evening was a bit slower, Berlin took the time to engage with my colleague and I, which I greatly appreciated.

I was in Brooks recently traveling for work and had a great experience at this location. My server Hunter did an awesome job from start to finish. He’s a hilarious guy and we got to build great rapport while I was there. He was attentive and quick with bringing out everything I ordered. The food was delicious too including some of the best ribs I’ve had in a long time. I’ll be asking for Hunter again the next time I dine here!
