A great local bar for beers and appetizers although you can fill up quickly on the apps. Outside and indoor seating with TVs to watch a game. Kids allowed to sit outside but not indoors. We love the variety of bottled and draft beers. Get the dozen monkefellas and top it with cocktail sauce, hot sauce, horseradish and/or a squirt of lemon juice. We also like the peel and eat shrimp. A must try!

The wife and I went there today and had a great time. I had mudbugs (crawfish) and the wife had jumbo shrimp. The food was excellent and the staff was entertaining. Our waitress Samantha was outstanding! We plan on going back before we leave if nothing else just to have a drink. As for as restaurants go Monk’s has been the best so far! Thanks again!!

I thought I only liked seafood but this place made me love it and the prices are dirt cheap 10 bucks for a pound of crayfish is crazy and the crab is 10 dollars cheaper then competitors if a wasn’t on vacation here then I would regular this place

We had raw oysters that were great and hubby had ipa beer. Service was good and friendly but happy hour menu items were not mentioned until we inquired at the end. We are from up north and come down in January through May we own condo here in Sarasota. Now that business is getting back to normal since Covid, we feel happy hour is important to get people in with drink specials and food specials. Skob restaurant in siesta key always has people lined up waiting to be seated they have happy hr 3-6 seven days a week with daily drink specials and food including 1/2 price oysters. And live music to attract customers more restaurants should follow in their footsteps just saying

If you want over priced seafood, domestic draft beer, and the bottom of the barrel oysters l, this is the place to go! We had to put a plate over the oysters so we didn’t throw up are bread that was the only edible thing to eat on the very small menu.
