Really first time trying gelato. Flavors are varied all over the map. Today they had a Kit Kat style one that is amazing. Sandwiches are outstanding and staff is extremely friendly. Will be back, stared on Apple Maps as a go to for the best sandwich in the tri cities.

Truly one of the best lunches in the Tri-Cities, and I haven’t even had the Gelato yet! Start with the “creamy chicken and celery soup.” It really needs a majestic name because it is truly fit for a king! Served piping hot and so full of chicken that it was a meal all by itself.

I paired the soup with the ham, goat cheese and apple sandwich which was out of this world. They don’t skimp on ANY of the ingredients, and the everything on it was so fresh, all the way down to the mixed greens.
Hubby had the Hearty Italian salad with what turned out to be the very best Balsamic dressing I’ve ever tasted. (Honestly, I even dipped my sandwich in it. His chicken bacon ranch sandwich was also tops.
Getting long-winded here but all I can say about the Gelato is, ‘come hungry!’ Their idea of “one scoop” is two flavors together in one cup if you like! We got carried away and started eating before I remembered to take the pix all the way through, including the Gelato. They have over 20 flavors to choose from!
To top it all off, the sweet little dining room has padded chairs vs those urban industrial metal numbers that are so popular but uncomfortable. (They do have some of the cute metal tables, though.)
And the 70’s tunes were the cherry on top for this reviewer. Do NOT miss this spot!

I was looking for ice cream in the area and this place popped up. Ive already been here 4-5 times. I really like the European Tart Yogurt flavor. Ive had a few flavors and they were all very delicious. My boyfriend and his son both had some and this was the first time having gelato and they both loved it.

We came to Mona’s for our monthly visit from Bristol excepting the usually experience (lovely, helpful and kind staff) not this time. First we came and were greeted by the rudest man ever. (He had long blonde hair)Acted as if we were a bother just by being there. (Stay clear of him!) Took our order and rolled his eyes when we asked a couple questions about the menu. Food was good though, we strongly hope it was just a bad day and improvements are made. I should add a good comment though there was a girl working that was a complete pleasure.

Called ahead and made sure the kitchen had the food I wanted. Left my home and arrived at approximately 8-8:10. Was informed the kitchen had closed for the evening and was no longer selling food, only gelato. Really would have appreciated that information before making the short drive. Restaurant hours are until 10. If I needed to order and have it waiting, I would have. I’ve enjoyed this establishment frequently in the past. This time really missed the mark.

Sometimes you never expect a place that focuses on gelato to have other just as good options. I actually didn’t get any but I will definitely come back just from what I did get to try today. I look forward to trying more.

Great little gelato shop. The gelato is delicious and the atmosphere is comfy. So many choices of gelato to choose from. They let us sample before choosing . They all had a great taste. My favorite was the Oreo chocolate. It was so yummy! The decor inside is so cute. I love this place! We will definitely be going back .

I’ve always heard about this fantastic little café from my coworkers but I finally got to try them for the first time this week. The reviews did not disappoint!! Everything was fantastic from the food, enviroment, and service. I got the banh mi, veggie soup, and tiramisu gelato. I will be back again!!

Friendly staff and answered menu questions with helpful info. Let us try some samples before ordering. We were in town for a convention for the weekend and will be sure to return next time we’re in Johnson City.
