Cozy and cool place / small restaurant in the city. Staff is friendly and polite. This is the best sushi experience you can find in Verona, almost original with not so much fusion courses. variety of nigiri and maki are not so huge but there is much more you can try. Chahan tasted more like the chinese one, takoyaki and tonkatsu were tasty, but pretty different from the real ones. I reccomend mostly sushi in this place

Definitely my favourite sushi restaurant in Verona! You can stay for a meal or you can takeaway, everybody’s really nice and kind. All the food is very fresh and tasty. I suggest ramen (really yummy), takoyaki and sushi in general (all the fish is exquisite!!!). Buon appetito!!!

Definitely a hidden gem. Authentic japanese food and cozy atmosphere. Ingredients are very fresh and delicious. We came here for the first time, to celebrate our 5th year marriage anniversary and honestly didn’t feel very welcomed as the owner was a bit rude at our arrival and didn’t let us take the table of our choice, even though the restaurant was half empty. Anyway, a part from this inconvenient, food was tasty and def it is a 100% recommendation for freshness and authenticity.

If you have had authentic sushi (in my case NYC and Hawaii – haven’t been to Japan yet), you might will soon find that Italian sushi restaurants do not offer the same variety of fish (in fact, most are limited to tuna, salmon, shrimp and octopus) and are rather uncreative when it comes to special (maki) rolls. Sushi Yayoi is not really different, but it is a solid choice (when compared to other sushi restaurants in the city) that offers fresh ingredients, a cute interior (albeit the place seems to be geared more towards takeout) and a lovely owner.

I was really amazed at sushi quality of Yayoi. As Japanese, I can guarantee that Yayoi’s sushi is authentic. I never had such a quality in Europe although I have lived in Europe for 4 years. I highly recommend that you should go Yayoi If you would have authentic sushi in Verona.
