I had the wagyu sukiyaki. Tender and delicious. The staff was kind and considerate which is always a big tell of what a good restaurant would be like. The food was delicious, staff was super attentive and there was a lot of ownership both in their craft and their customer service. There was a lot of attention to detail with the food presentation too.

Amazing authentic Japanese food! We had the kaki fried (fried oysters), Jako & Mizuna Salad, assortment of sashimi and sushi, and the sukiyaki.

Amazing experience at Momokawa. The interior of the restaurant was decorated very well with a calm atmosphere. Ordered Kumamoto oysters to start, and the sauce was one of the most delicious things I’ve ever had. Paired with the oyster and lemon, I highly recommend trying these here. The sukiyaki was also so delicious with delicate flavors. Service was extremely attentive and kind. Will have to try the omakase menu next for my next visit.

Been a fan for years when they were still downtown. This new UES location is a lovely upgrade. I go there for the wagyu sukiyaki, but their sushi is also great. Go for the otoro and spicy scallop hand roll.

To be honest, the food is decent but it is just not that impressive as I thought (when reading others sharing). Also they charge 20% tips by default, BUT, in my opinions, it doesn’t match up to the standard of 20% service fee.

Great selection of sushi for omakase. The bar also has storage bins at every seat.

Super friendly staff. They will help you with the sukiyaki from start to finish, so don’t worry at all. I always get the sukiyaki here. The US Wagyu Beef is good but the Miyazaki Beef is different level!!! You have to try it. It literally melts into your mouth. It’s the closest to what I had in Japan. The combo comes with tofu, veggies, and udon/or rice.

The most authentic Japanese restaurant in NYC! I love their Skiyaki and Shabu Shabu yet their Sashimi and Shushi is also 5 star! Food is consistently superb since 28th St. and their service is always good. The ambiance reminds me of my old town in Japan I used to live.

This place was decent in terms of the food, price and the portions that were served. However what sucked was the service. I guess they were busy with the holidays but everything took a long time and we waited a long time for a checked after asking for it 3 times.
