Truth be told…. I was very skeptical of how the food was going to be. We waited about 30mins due to door dash and the Catering orders….. We wanted to order Oxtails but they ran out. We ordered Brown Stew and Fried Chicken instead and WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. Their portion size was definitely enough for 2 people a platter and again Food was very Good. We will definitely be back to try more of the menu

I just want to share. I walked in to pick up a doordash order. You immediately get hit with a disgusting smell. The whole place smelt like a house full of cats, the smell alone should make you second guess the food they are cooking. It was awful smelling.

As a Jamaican , who comes from a family of chefs and knows how to cook. Sometimes you just want to try others food, but this is a insult to the culture dish. White rice is usually served with this dish, the portion sizes of the chicken are too big, traditionally it is cut into pieces. Also the flavoring of the curry and all the other seasons were missing. I understand that you do not just cater to Jamaicans but to completely turn away from the traditional preparation of this dish is worse. I have supported this restaurant many times, but this is my last time. I will not be patronizing this business anymore until they can get their act together.

First time trying this place, I’ve seen good reviews so I thought ‘why not!?’ Going back I see reviews on only the soul food ….so to start I waited 45min for my food I could’ve just cooked myself at this point …second I ordered jerk chicken and brown stew chicken …I’ve never in my life had Caribbean food so bland I mean NO sauce at all, jerk chicken had NO spice or flavor, it tasted like baked chicken and I even asked for EXTRA sauce. The rice and peas was good …the portion of banana pudding is definitely not worth $3.99. This is terrible

I ride past this place all the time and finally had a date night with babe and this is where we went. Its huge inside but it deff needs some cosmetic updates. The local artwork that is hung all over makes the place look chic and modern and takes away from the run down look but you can tell that owner or owners do care about the place. I ordered chicken and waffles. OMGEEEE let me tell yall that waffle was perfect and buttery, if you like crispy waffle dont bother, I love the soft waffle texture because the crispiness I got was from the juicy well cooked and season fried chicken. My husband got the jerk chicken platter with rice and black eyed peas. The chicken and black peas were slapping but the rice wasnt cooked all the way. Could of been because we got there 40 mins before they were close no biggie next time we will be sure to arrive a little earlier so they dont feel like they need to rush. I look forward to coming back for more chicken and waffles and possibly to try another menu item. GREAT FOOD!

As a cook, I am highly dissatisfied with the quality of the meal. I ordered Brown Stew Chicken, rice & peas and Mac & Cheese. The Brown Stew Chicken was mid – flavoring was barely there. The rice was mushy and tasted like it had been a few days old. The Mac & Cheese was what set it completely off – the Mac was very, very clearly days old. The discoloration of top of the Mac was not a “oven burnt” coloration, it was stiff – to the point where I tried to take a bite and ended up picking up the entire serving of Mac. I was warned before getting my food from family and friends of their similar experiences – they were proved to be absolutely correct, as well as having community members on social media share their experiences. I then took the food back and requested a full refund – informing the OWNER of my experiences and he was extremely disregarding, trying to put it back on my as to why I was wrong when it was evidently not the case. He tried saying the food was fresh and once again, as a cook and a person who loves food – I knew exactly what I was talking about. Mama G’s needs to completely revalue their food handling. I will be reaching out to the Health Department to do a full inspection to make SURE they are storing food and discarding food properly. Never, ever again will I order from this restaurant. Out of the entire team, the OWNER was the most disregarding – his employees were very understanding of my position. Fair warning, be cautious of what you order….
