We just moved to Irvine from Seattle and would like to try some Japanese food in Irvine. I took my wife and Mother-in-Law to Misasa inside Mitsuwa supermarket Irvine. We were so surprised at the menu price due to inflation. We ordered the following items

Pork Cutlet Bowl/ Kake Udon (Small) ($12.95)
Deep Fried Shrimp Bowl ($10.95)
Grill Mackerel Plate ($10.25)

My Mother-in-Law said the fish did not taste salty. If it tasted salty, it’s perfect.

My wife and I like Pork Cutlet Bowl. Highly Recommended.

If you would like to go out to eat and the price is below $15, Missa is a good one. Just give it a try and you won’t feel disappointed.

Will go back definitely.

Food was good but I didn’t like the fish. I had the tempera plate and it came with small cup of miso soup. Update: food and service improvement for my most recent visit. I didn’t get a picture of the miso soup

When I first came here and ate, I really enjoyed the curry pork cutlet. However, the pork cutlet I ate today had a good fried color on the front and the end, but the fried color on the back was light and the color of the cut part was strange, so my husband checked it. I went to eat it, but the staff replied that it was already cooked, so I didn’t eat it. Another reason is that the lettuce under the pork cutlet was too wet, so the fried pork cutlet became too wet. Next time, if I eat it again, I think it would be better to just eat the curry pork cutlet.

Often come to this place for their Katsu Don and Udon combo. The Katsu Don is always fresh cooked with half boiled egg top that brings back lots of memories when in Japan. It’s not a place for fine dining but definitely a place if you want to rewind the taste of traditional Japanese food.

What is there to complain about? I always come by whenever I’m in the neighborhood. Still one of the few deals thats under $10 for an actual meal.

Their Pork Cutlet Curry ($9.25+tax) is my go-to for its volume and the home-y feeling it gives you.

The gentleman at the front gingerly took my order and my food came out ~10mins. Mind you, this was on a Tuesday afternoon (2pm)

I prefer this locaction sometimes compared to its sister location in Costa Mesa. The choices here are limited, but you get the quiet and convenience.

Tip: There’s a parking in the back corner of the mall where you have direct access to the food court instead of parking and walking through the front. If you can find it…

Food is okiesh. Not too bad not good either.
Fish wasn’t fresh. Mediocre.
Little dark and dull dining area. Onigiri from Mitsuwa was good. Quantity is ok too for the price.
Since prices are not that high, wasn’t very upset at the food. You get what you pay for.

It’s okay for a quick food court meal but you can tell it’s not the freshest food. The chicken katsu was a little cold and chewy and the udon just kinda tasted like udon in a bowl of warm diluted dashi broth.

But hey, it’s always nice to eat before you go grocery shopping because a hungry shopper buys too much
