Read reviews which made my mind up to order from here. Reviews said generous portions? Very disappointed. Curries were more sauce and bland hardly any meat. The mint sauce tubs were half the size of normal. The keema in both the rice and naan bread was bland. I know it is down to each restaurant but usually when i place a big order they usually put extra poppodoms in. The salad portions were small considering i ordered 8 starters was enough for 3 possibly. Will not use again.

Ordered the Shobji Chilli Masala (Vegetable) yesterday evening with chips, vegetable rice and garlic & cheese naan. Came to £16 with my £2 student discount, the kind of price expected for a one person meal however I shared with my partner. Took about an hour to deliver on a Monday night, delivered by a very happy and friendly guy worthy of a tip. I have to say I didn’t have the highest expectations because of the low price and the fact I had never ordered a curry in Newport before. What I then went on to experience on my kitchen countertop can only be described as the best Indian I have ever had in my 21 years of life. I have never shed a tear over curry before but last night I came very close. The curry was rich & creamy with just the right amount of spice for me (medium), packed with beautiful flavours and very high quality, I could tell this curry was made with love and experience. The rice was vibrant and fresh with a good vegetable balance, contributing to a heavenly combination with the curry. Chips were standard chips, lovely curry dipping material – same goes for the naan. My order was packaged very well, keeping the food nice and hot from restaurant to my mouth.
First time eating from here but can’t recommend enough. I will definitely be ordering again!!
