My Mom and I decided to go to Mildred’s Restaurant to eat lunch after church. This restaurant serves down home Southern cooking. They have a buffet or you can order from the menu. We ate from the buffet. The food is very good. The chicken strips are huge and perfectly cooked. Items on the buffet include turnip greens, macaroni and cheese, dressing, black eyed peas, Lima beans, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, and several more choices. For dessert, there’s a dessert bar where you can choose from homemade pies, such as chocolate pie, coconut pie, caramel pie, etc. I had the caramel pie. This was the best caramel pie I’ve ever had. The merengue on the pie has a slight sugary crunch to it. It was great.
If you like good down home Southern cooking this is a great place to eat.

We moved to the area about 6 years ago I regret that we waited so long to eat here. There is no particular reason that we waited so long but today was our first time we have eaten here. It’s a very welcoming place. It’s a family owned & operated restaurant, right there in their front yard. We called in a to-go order. The staff was very quick & friendly. We ordered a six-piece grilled chicken finger plate it come with a salad, side and bread. I got a baked potato as my side & the salad I was able to fix myself from the salad bar. It was a very nice big bar with all the fixings you could want. We also ordered a one-piece fried fish fillet plate with fries, hush puppies and slaw. For dessert we ordered a piece of chocolate pie. The servings were big enough I have plenty of leftovers for another meal. The price was very reasonable as well. I can say for sure we will be ordering from here again. If you are looking for a home cooked meal, old fashioned fish & steak house we recommend you stopping by or calling in an order.

Country cooking at its best, my fellow patrons were just good down to earth Americans.

If you are looking for good, classic Southern comfort food go here. Oh, and did I mention the price is right?!? Are you a smaller person, or just not very hungry, so reluctant to pay the full buffet price? No problem! Get it to go and pay by the pound! I LOVE this approach, it’s just downright fair!

Parking behind the house/restaurant. Seems to be a local favorite. Liked the salad bar and fried fish filets the best out of what we ordered. I would not order fried mushrooms again. Over all pleased with service after figuring out that we were supposed to seat ourselves.

Mildred’s for Sunday Brunch for the win! What does she do to those chicken fingers? They are the best! So much goodness here. Fried catfish, pot roast, chicken pot pie and more. Yummy vegetables, yes they are southern style so expect great seasoning and cooked almost to mush. Hope that fried yellow squash in on the buffet for your visit. Outside is not impressive but just trust and go eat!

This is really a lovely place to eat, especially the Sunday Buffet. We are 3 campers of friends that come down from Middle an West Tennessee to camp near Columbus a couple times each year. Mrs. Mildred seems to be the nicest lady and has some of the best home cooked food that you could ask for. Everything is above expectations. Her staff is very efficient and friendly also. Looking forward to next Sunday and her fantastic meatloaf.
