Very good food. The crab puffs and gyoza were amazing (I am not a big fan of raw fish). My boyfriend loved the sushi and nigiri as well. Great service and super fast to serve the food.

My family and I recently visited Mikado for dinner, and we were greeted by two friendly gentlemen who showed us to our seats. As the only customers at that moment, we had their undivided attention.

One of the most solid sushi places in Austin that I tried so far. I had the spider roll, Teresa, dejavú and el dorado. My favorites had to be Teresa and el dorado. Definitely will be trying more sushi from this place.

My family and I are visiting in Waco, TX. Our family consists of 2 older daughters, a 2 year old daughter and 1 year old son. This is the first vacation we’ve had as a complete family. We planned to travel to Austin to celebrate our 2 older daughter’s July birthday’s so shopping and dinner was a must. We are from a small town in Oklahoma and have never been to Austin. Upon looking up reviews, we came across Mikado Ryotei. The location is very easy to get to and once we walked in, we were greeted with a friendly smile from Jenny. We had our hands full so she helped with grabbing high chairs for both little ones and we got into a conversation. I told her we brought our girls here to celebrate their birthdays, one had already passed and the other is the 28th. Jenny came out and surprised each of our children with strawberry flavored Ramune to celebrate! My mouth dropped, it was the sweetest gesture-you never see this nowadays! We ordered beef bulgogi, different types of sushi, K-pop chicken, vegetable tempura and edamame. Everything was so fresh and mouth watering! My favorite sushi roll was the Shangri La, filling and so creamy. Jenny brought toddler silverware so our babies could eat with what fit their little hands and mouths better. Once my little family finished eating, I look up and Jenny is coming out with spoons, dessert and candles lit! We sang to them, I was trying to record it and Jenny took my phone so I could be a part of it! I was so excited! Then we all got to dig into the yummy sweets. After all of our bellies were full, we got to talk with Jenny and she told us of different places to go see in Dallas, since we told her we are planning to visit there too.

Mikado — amazing, a class above! Ordered the ‘miso sea bass’ and a Crouching Tiger roll, miso, escolar nigiri (ish), had some sake — all were a delight, and the service was great. It happened to be a relatively cold evening so we made a point to order some warmer items, the server noticed this and was very accommodating. Pricing is very fair especially considering the quality of the dishes. Happened to meet the owner and he was great, too. Thanks Mark. Will definitely recommend and be back!

Good sushi spot with a huge selection of rolls, Sashimi, and Nigiri. I came on a Sunday night and immediately got a table. My wife and I shared the love boat for two and we’re plenty full afterwards. Get two rolls with the love boat so we got the Hottie Susan and angel whisper. Both great, but the Susan was superior – nice spice level and crunch!
