My favorite restaurant in all of Beverly! I come here so often that I recognize all the staff. This item is a little on the pricier side, but I highly recommend the King of Ocean roll! Also, as a warning because I have seen some people comment about this, yeah the hibachi just does not taste very good. But come on people, hibachi is about the experience. And it gets 5 stars in the experience aspect in my eyes!

My husband and I took 5 of our kids here for a holiday celebration. We had a fabulous time. The food was great, the chef was entertaining and we all laughed and enjoyed the evening together. Time and money well spent. I would not hesitate to return and recommend this restaurant to everyone!!

One adult, two children- food was bland, the chef was fun and interacted with my kids, I’m reading another review about getting sprayed with water yelling “Sake” which happened to us, but my kids thought he was saying “Sucky” so the inappropriate jokes followed. When I was paying the bill the waiter blatantly asked me for an additional $15 citing he pools his tips and had to split with the other staff, in all my years of dining out I have never been asked for a bigger tip in this manner. The bill for $70 and I paid him $15 for a tip, he asked for more money on top of that.

I used to come here alot in the past but I don’t think I will be returning any time soon. You think when you order orange chicken you get orange chicken, not the normal fried chicken with sauce dumped in the middle of the plate so only one or two of them have some sauce on it. And when you order a shrimp dish for $10 and only get 3 pieces of shrimp?

We did the Hibachi and the food was excellent and the Hibachi chef was funny and fun. It’s a little on the expensive side so wouldn’t be able to come here often and the Cotton Candy Martini was awful and couldn’t drink it and that’s the reason for 4 stars.

Great food, great entertainment, wait staff sometimes can give you a hard time if you have 1 person not want hibachi when sitting with a group ordering hibachi

Took granddaughters here for hibachi for one’s birthday tonight. Food was mediocre—little taste and the oil for the grill tasted old. I would rate the food and service a 3. However, on a bill of nearly $114 (before tax), I left a $26 tip. I had already tipped the chef $10 at the end of his cooking. (You do the math!) I always tip 20% and usually on pretax. The hostess brought everything back to say I didn’t leave enough—she wanted 20% on the bottom line. “We have to pay the chef”. My explanations all of a sudden did not seem to be understood. I have never been insulted like this in any restaurant…in most states in this country and on three continents! We are from out of town, but visit the Cape Ann area often because we have family here. Other members of our family visit here for the same reason. And all of us spend a lot of money in area restaurants. Suffice it to say, no more of my food dollars, or that of my extended family and hopefully many of our local friends, will be going to the Mikado.

Everything is just horrible!!! Food is bad: the scallion pancake was like from a fast food restaurant (a lot of oil, over-fried), the rice in sushi was not well cooked, the roll was a tiny 6-piece one (absolutely overpriced), the miso soup didn’t have any taste, the fried-rice was not cooked well. Utensils were dirty. So we ate everything without any appetite. But what was absolutely shocking is the service. The waiter was very unfriendly, and at the end he came up to say that tips are not satisfying!!! This is absolutely insulting! Never in our life my husband and I had such a terrible experience.
