I would love to have rated this restaurant higher because there food was the closest to authentic since I left Los Angeles, but the service just was NOT there! The waiter brought us chips, salsa and our drinks right away, took our order, quickly brought it to us and we never saw him again! He didn’t come back to refill our drinks or to ask if we needed anything. There was only 1 other table seated after us and they got the same treatment. Finally someone came out to show people to the table behind us and I flagged him down for the check. So we were there 38 minutes with nobody checking on us. I guess I have to keep looking for a great Mexican restaurant.

I typically don’t leave reviews, but I felt the need to after today. First time trying this place. We got seated quickly, got our drinks and it was downhill from there. My daughter finished her drink and 20 minutes went by until I found someone (not our waiter) to tell them she needed a refill. That was fine. We also ran out of chips and never saw anyone. Also fine. In the hour and a half we were there we saw our server 3 times including when he got our drink order and when he brought the check. The rice and beans were cold. All this was fine, I just wasn’t going to return again after today. HOWEVER, the reason I’m leaving this review is all of that combined with the bus boy. He pulled his cart right up next to us, which is really gross when you’re trying to eat, and proceeded to THROW nasty dishes into the tubs, banging loudly and splattering salsa all over our booth and my shirt sleeve. I was mad at this point. I asked for a manager, thought we would get a sincere apology, maybe half off our meal or even 100% off since I had literal salsa thrown onto my light grey sweatshirt. But no, he came back with a ticket for 25% off. That’s when I decided I would write this review. We will never be going to this restaurant again.

Mi Pueblo is a favorite where we live so we thought same sign, maybe same recipes. Wrong. I paid $54 for a meal we didn’t order or eat. The waitress got my order wrong. I ordered combo fajitas and she brought shrimp fajitas. They offered to bring the chicken and steak to throw on the plate but it was close to closing time so I just ate what they brought. Throwing meat on the top of it didn’t sound appealing. Food had no taste. My son ordered three tacos and the ground beef was burnt. He also said they didn’t taste good. We left two plates full of food. So basically we paid $54 for cheese dip and drinks. Lesson learned and won’t make the same mistake twice.

The food was great and atmosphere is what you’d expect. The service was definitely not satisfactory. I can’t imagine our server reflects the actual service there because I noticed other tables getting great service from different servers. However, what we received was way less than satisfactory. Our server never checked back on us after she delivered the entrees. 30 minutes after we were finished eating, I had to flag her down and ask for the check. No refills offered or anything. She didn’t even ask if everything was okay. Kinda strange for this type of restaurant.

The salsa is different and I can see why some people wouldn’t like it. I loved it, my podna not so much. The street tacos were delicious. The refried beans were also different but enjoyable. It’s a solid place if you’re close and hungry and feeling lucky enough to not get the server we had.

Ordered one chicken street taco and one steak street taco with rice. The food came to me cold. Not warm but cold. This might have been an aberration, but my experience was terrible. The service was terrible. I came because of how many reviews and how good they were. I’m sure mine was an unusual experience, but I will not be back.

I’ve eaten here several times today on 26 October 2025 a friend of mine went here to eat lunch we ordered steak and shrimp fajitas. It only had two shrimps in it. The steaks was burnt, not counting cold. Everything was cold that we had on our plate. I understand they get busy, but do they really have to serve our food cold when it’s supposed to be sizzling hot with this being said I doubt it if I eat there anymore.

Chips and salsa were OK. Could be more chunkier. It’s too watery for me. The food was fabulous and will be back again. Pics are below.

I tried their street tacos, beef, chorizo, and carnitas pastor. It comes with rice and beans. So good!

I get these every time I come here. Great service, great people, great food, you just can’t go wrong.

Let’s begin with the salsa, a Mexican restaurant staple… it was so bland, you could have told me it was just tomatoes and I would have believed it.

The queso was $10!!! And while it was a decent size, it came out cool and lumpy. Barely room temperature.

I got the Mi Pablo’s Fajitas, which came with steak, shrimp and chicken. You would think that being less than 30 miles from the gulf coast, I would get many fresh shrimp, but sadly, I got 2 absolutely tiny, seemingly frozen shrimp in my whole order!!! The fajitas also suffer drastically from a lack of seasoning.

I was with two others. One got the happy plate, which was bland as well, and the other got the same thing as me. The person who got the same as me also suffered from a lack of shrimp and lack of portion size (we both only got 3 small tortilla shells for our whole order).

The way the check was presented was also an issue for me. All that I got for a check was the handwritten ticket that my waiter wrote. No prices for any item or anything! Just the total price (which seemed higher than expected!)

As I walked up to pay my bill, I glanced into the kitchen and oh my goodness! It was a total mess. I understand there being a little mess in the middle of a shift, but there was food tossed everywhere, even a lot on the floor, and it just did not look appealing to me.

Overall, if you like toned down food because you can’t handle seasoning, and if you like just guessing what you’re paying for at the end of the night, this is the place for you.
