Originally a small fisherman’s tavern which opened in 1947, the Mews has transformed into a legendary Rhode Island restaurant and bar with something for everyone. The Mews boasts 3 unique bars, serving 69 beers on tap including many local micro-brews and rare + limited offerings. It is a staple for any beer lover. The extensive menu offers locally sourced seafood, meat and produce which changes seasonally to keep things fresh and interesting. Although regulars will likely say it’s the familiar classics and fun atmosphere that keep them coming back time and time again. The full menu can be enjoyed 7 days a week in all 3 bars plus a large dining room affectionately known as the tree room.

This place is a GEM! Best wings in a 50 mile radius, get em smoked or breaded, they make their own sauces. I highly recommend “mews hot”. The dollar bar is a blast, great happy hour. Staff handles a packed house at happy hour everyday. Special call out to the OG Monica, whose got a fun witty personality and never leaves my beer empty! Highly recommend <3

Mews Tavern is always a great time. I used to trivia here when I lived in RI but now I visit mews anytime I come back. The food is always exceptional, the staff are always polite and the atmosphere is always nice. I only good things to say about Mews and would definitely suggest anyone visiting South Kingston or Gansett to stop by.

Had an awesome meal the other night. Started with the smoked wings, and let me tell you, the Chipotle honey BBQ sauce was incredible. Perfect balance of sweet and spicy—seriously, I could’ve eaten a whole tray of them.
I also tried the beef brisket tacos. They were solid, juicy, and full of flavor, but those wings really stole the show for me. The place also has a great selection of local beers, which paired perfectly with the food.
On top of that, the staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. Overall, it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the mood for some good food and laid-back vibes.

Our most frequent choice for dinner when neither of us wants to cook and we’re out of leftovers. Good variety of food; preparation and flavors are consistently better than average compared to other pub/restaurant places we’ve visited while traveling. The main dining room can get a bit loud when full.

Mews is a place that I really want to like, a lot, but each time I’m left slightly disappointed wishing they could do a bit better.
Hadn’t been to The Mews since their big menu change a number of years ago. Moved back to the area and have tried it several times recently.
Here’s the good. Absolutely love the vibe inside. Usually try to sit in one of the bars, but anywhere inside the sprawling place is just fine. It’s cozy, it’s warm. I love it. The menu is pretty big. Tons of great ideas and something for everyone. Obviously their beer menu is massive with loads of local stuff.
The food and service are what get me. The food is very meh. I’ve gotten a local burger the first visit and the brisket sandwhich the 2nd time. The flavors were very muddy and the rolls and fries were rather

Stop #1 on RI FOOD FIGHTS 12th Annual Big Burger Blowout #BestBurgersRI with Carol Stuart after our every other Thursday trip to Boston….Carol orderd a “build your own” with mushrooms, bacon, and cheddar cheese w/sweet potato fries….I opted for the Seasonal Special Big Fig Burger, black Angus beef patty, pesto, Gorgonzola, fig jam, red onion, peppered bacon, all on a brioche bun…w/curly fries…
As an Uber driver, I drop people off and pick them up from this place a lot when I’m down in Narragansett driving and I’ve always wanted to come here…Thank you, RI Food Fights for getting them to join the competition… I’ve heard best burger in South County from many different people! There are more burgers on the menu that I wanna try and I’ll be able to call in and pick up in the future while I’m driving!
