Date night gone wrong. Wanted to love it. Disappointed to say the least. Ended up at taco stand to fulfill dietary requirements.

Food (ultimately what matters most to me) is actually pretty good quality. You will somewhat pay up for it because it’s a place right on Prospect in La Jolla. Lobster mac and cheese were good with generous lobster pieces. Apps were nicely done. If you go with a fish-based dish you can’t go wrong…if they get your order right.

Sat at the bar and had oysters, Portuguese seafood soup (similar to cioppino but smokey and a bit spicier) and bone marrow crab cakes. They were all very good. The soup was a bit different but very flavorful and the crab cakes were well paired with the bone marrow. They were even better when dipped in the sauce from the soup.

I can only rate the service because I never got to have any food. The experience started off well, with a delightful young man who sat us. It went down hill from there. We waited twelve minutes and no one took a drink order. I decided to go ask for a waiter, one came, seemed annoyed I asked and took the order for the bottle of wine I wanted. I waited 10 more minutes and it didn’t appear. We chose to leave. Severely disappointed as I booked this weeks ago based on the menu. We are only in town for the weekend, but I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Since Dwayne took over this place is great. I enjoyed the steelhead trout tonight, and my companion had the lobster macaroni. We started with the oysters which were fantastic. The service was attentive but not obsequious, and the people watching from the outside table was great. I’ve been several times, and it’s in my starting rotation for LJ eateries.

A very nice location. We asked to sit next to a heater and later asked for it to be turned on, which it never was. I ordered the pan seared chicken which came out covered in fatty pieces. Sent it back to get remade while my table ate. Was charged full price for everything. Server was cold, annoyed. Will not go back.

We sat at the bar and our bartenders were very friendly and gave us recommendations on oysters based on our preferences, which resulted in a very tasty experience. Happy hour(on a Saturday at 5pm) included half off on the oysters. The cocktails were amazing as well. We just had a couple of appetizers but they were very delicious. Love the open interior and patio, plenty of seating and no music blaring, just softly in the background, great for a group that wants to talk

Photos don’t do this place justice. It’s a beautiful restaurant on Prospect. (I needed a restaurant for 15 STAT because Harumama across the street did not deliver what they told me… that’s another story. ) Love the patio and the inside is even better. Lovely location for a celebration.

Sat out on patio and looked at the Porsche club parked all along prospect. We had a new server so she struggled with getting order and bill right. Food was surprisingly good. Didn’t have high expectations with tourist area. We had sea bass, ribeye, crab thing on the bone marrow and a salad. Open table for reservations. Reasonably priced for the area. Valet parked for 15 across the street. Otherwise go find a bank after hours to park and walk over.
