An incredible job by the staff at Menlo Grill. They prepared a special menu in honor of my mother who recently passed away. They even served some traditional appetizers that were my mom’s favorites and everyone was able to share in the unique nature of this tribute. The room was laid out perfectly and the service was attentive and caring. Thank you all for making this moment happen!

Food was good & the meager staff was pleasant. Lovely, large outdoor courtyard for dining. Fortunately, we were there to catch up w/ family, so it didn’t matter that lunch took 2.5 hrs (!). Apparently they have trouble staffing the place b/c waiters & other staff have to live far away, due to gargantuan real estate prices in the area. I guess there aren’t enough Stanford kids in need of spending money while they’re @ school. The menu was pricey w/ solid, fairly standard options.

While I am usually pleased with the food and service, today when three of us came for brunch, the service was not good. My eggs were cold by the time my toast arrived, my friend’s root beer float had very little ice cream and contained alcohol when he specifically asked it be without, dessert menus came to only two of us. Those aren’t terrible gaffs but they do add up.

All of the food tasted a bit off. Dessert was too sweet, soup lacked salt (and really flavor, too), and the main dish didn’t have a lot ofdepth. Everything sounded promising but didn’t deliver. It’s too bad because everything else–from decor to service–was great!

I have eaten here a couple times and also just come in for drinks as well. I usually stay in the hotel when visiting Palo Alto. The bartenders are great, they make a good range of cocktails and have a respectable wine list. I have enjoyed the food I have had there, last time I had the filet and really enjoyed it. The services has always been impeccable.

Took my fiance here for her 30th birthday (and long overdue review). Short version, absolutely recommend! Long version: It was a nearly empty Thursday night, and I already knew it was going to be a perfect night! The restaurant is elegant (to me). I’m no fine dining, French Laundry enthusiast, smugly rich kind of guy. The lighting was perfectly between bright and romantically dim. Very clean and tables are spaced out nicely! The staff is super nice, accommodating, yet not overbearing. My fiance and I barely ever noticed that our waters or glasses of wine were filled, which truly made us feel separated from the world, yet served. Kudos to the serving/front staff! The food was absolutely delicious! I had the special lamb chops and she had the filet. We paired our meal with a cabernet that went excellently with the food. We still talk about the meal over a month later. In fact, we want to go back to try the Tuesday night fried chicken! We cannot wait till we can!

This is the second time I have visited Menlo Grill and it was a last minute call for dinner on Thanksgiving. I was thrilled that it has a nice (but small) selection of vegan selections (had to ask to remove the cheese on my salad) but it was all very good. The service was excellent and friendly. Giving it three stars now, will give it four stars if I visit again and it has a little larger selection of vegan foods.
