Yummmmm! Dined in for lunch on a weekday in May 2023. Wonderful food. Perfect for the blue collar crowd and anyone that needs to get in and out in less than an hour and get back to work. We were seated immediately and given chips and salsa. Our orders were taken correctly and delivered within 8 minutes. Waitress was friendly. Parking lot was level, gravel and near the AFB and a 5 min drive from downtown. Not overly crowded. Would definitely eat here again.

I ordered the catfish, it was overcooked and too much cornmeal was used for the batter. The fries were ok, but the catfish left a lot to be desired.

Breakfast was good, would have been better if butter & salsa weren’t so cold. Then I look up at window & see so many flies stuck to pieces of tape. Yuk. I had planned to return & try the Catfish plate, but the bathroom was so nasty….

Whether you dine in or take it to go, it’s doggone goooood! Hands down the best catfish in town. Don’t argue with me! and the North location has a new name, Diana’s Cafe, but the same great menu. You haven’t had fish til you’ve had Mendez Cafe

After seeing the Facebook post about this Resturant we went today to support them. We were not disappointed, the food is delicious and steaks well seasoned and cooked exactly as we ordered. Definitely one of the best places to eat in San Angelo!

Used to like going here but last few years I have stopped. Tried again today and it was OK at best. It seems like they just stopped cleaning the place. Tacos were bland and fish was ok (for saying the best it worries me)

Great little lunch place. Had the variety platter which had an enchilada, tamale, crispy taco, stuffed bell pepper, rice and beans. The brisket quesadilla plate was looking pretty tasty as well and packed a good flavor. I enjoyed it.
