I was very disappointed with the service tonight. Only one of three drinks was made correctly, and when we asked for a remake, the server was defensive and made it the same way again. Our food took 50 minutes to arrive and was lukewarm, and we were never checked on.
When I asked to remove the incorrect drink from the bill, the server argued, told my mother-in-law to “control her attitude,” and then talked negatively about us afterward. Overall, the experience was unacceptable. Casey was our waitress

This is our local pub and the default place to grab drinks and dinner after a long week. There’s always a great selection of local beers on draft, and the seasonal cocktails are a favorite. I often order the Blue Bayou salad, the Portland dip sandwich, or the Captain Neon burger, always with tots. Sadly the Scooby Snacks are no longer available here, so we’ll occasionally travel to McMenamins locations further afield for those.
The staff are always friendly and helpful. If I have one criticism, it’s that they often seem understaffed here, with one server to wait all the tables and tend bar. But ultimately it doesn’t matter, I’ll be going here until I die.

Great service and good food, I’m on a special diet right now and they were able to accommodate my needs. The picture is of one of the three Italian chandeliers McMenamins acquired, the other two are in the Crystal Ballroom. It is absolutely stunning.

First I will say the Black Rabbit is definitely worth a five star rating in itself, but unfortunately the majority of the eating around the location, drags the rating to three stars.
With the exception of the black rabbit, the majority of the eating around the locations is far from worth the visit. With such great views and great atmosphere, you would hope for some out of this world food.
The food sinks just below from what you would find at a basic bar, bland and no real wow factor. I feel sorry for the cooks because I bet they could come up with some amazing simple meals that would fit the location.
The service, though nice and friendly, was a little on the slow side, as was getting the meals out.
I will continue to go to this location for the great atmosphere, music, scenery and the black rabbit, but I can only hope one day, with resources provided, that the dining around the location will begin to provide a more wow factor.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. The manager refused to take my $100 bill. I asked them if they had a counterfeit pen ( $5 on Amazon) . They told me no. Manager said “ we have signs posted at every entrance”. BTW, the sign is a photocopy of an old $100 bill with very small type. I Did NOT see it, most people wouldn’t. I asked if they verbally would let people know before ordering food and they stated they would not. What? Why? The manager made me leave my teenage daughter alone at the table to “ go get change somewhere else”. I had to drive across the street to a crowded Safeway to make change for the staff of a LARGE CHAIN RESTAURANT WITH HOTELS AND RESORTS ALL OVER OREGON. AGAIN , a counterfeit pen is $5 ON AMAZON. . My wine pour was also super short ….and the RC was flat and syrupy. The waitress asked my daughter “ to taste it because it didn’t look right” WHAT?! I highly recommend never going. Ever. Gross .
