Clean fast and friendly. I had the Friday all you can eat Catfish. THIS IS A LENT ONLY SPECIAL!! Beets and mac and cheese sides were good. The pie was sinful.

Came with grandparents. It is kind of like the boomer version of whole foods hot bar/ salad bar to me.
Really friendly and helpful staff. Food is decent could be more culinary though. I had to dab hot sauce on my tilapia. The cherry pie was not natural you could tell there was food coloring or something artificial in it. But the location is really clean.

It’s sad how the manager at this location is very rude and doesn’t acknowledge us at all except to refill our drinks. She’s cold attitude and treats us like 2nd class citizens. She’s very friendly to the other customers in the restaurant and asks them how everything is tasting and so forth but with us just cold attitude and not making us feel welcomed. Spent almost $48 and the service is bad and the food lukewarm. We won’t ever come back to this location again, there’s other mcls that will be glad to have our business and money .

Went to this location for the 1st time today and said to say it was horrible experience luckily I know what mcl should be like I love the 1 on east Street to start with the temperature of the food was lukewarm at best the ( cold ) food and ( hot ) food were close in temperature the attitude was horrible the lady asked if we wanted a table or booth I said table please she grabbed the tray and took off I had to look for her to see where she took it to had to ask for every refill of the drinks and she never came by to check on us but everyone else she was being nice to even sitting at the table to talk to them never got asked if we needed a to go container or drink even though she asked everyone else those questions personally I think this place needs major help and retraining on how to do customer service and how to be nice with everyone not judging people just because I am in a mixed relationship is no reason to mistreat me and my spouse I feel like we were discriminated against because of being a mixed race couple because every white couple or same color couple she was nice to but us she treated like we were trash the server and I use that term loosely was named Michelle I think she definitely needs retraining or fired for treatment of mixed race couple we are all human and should be treated like that not treated like trash because we are a mixed race couple

I patronized MCL Cafeteria with the reasonable expectation of receiving food that was at least properly prepared and suitable for consumption, particularly given the price point. Unfortunately, that expectation was not met.
The chicken breast was served cold, indicating a clear failure in basic food service standards. The mashed potatoes contained a hard foreign object, the presence of which raises legitimate concerns regarding quality control and kitchen oversight. Additionally, the cinnamon rolls were dry, cold, and contained little to no discernible cinnamon, rendering them misrepresented by name and wholly unsatisfactory in substance.
Taken collectively, these deficiencies reflect a pattern of carelessness rather than an isolated oversight. The meal was not commensurate with the cost charged, and the experience fell well below what a reasonable customer is entitled to expect.
Based on this visit, MCL Cafeteria does not offer value consistent with its pricing, and I cannot recommend it.

MCL is one of my very favorite restaurants and has been for a long long time. We don’t have any where I am from so we had to stop at 1 each time we got anywhere close to one. We live in Kansas City and go to Fort Wayne Indiana to see my family so we stop near Indy.
It was delicious as always although this particular time the roasted potatoes were hard because they were overcooked and the roast beef was a little dry. The broccoli casserole was absolutely delicious as is the cloverleaf rolls. And this is one of the very rare times that it hasn’t been perfect so I’m still considering it to be the very best. And the service is always fantastic and the atmosphere is really nice and quiet.
The prices are also fantastic. I always get the Mayfield special which is a smaller portion and my husband got the memorial day special which was a large leg and thigh of barbecue chicken with two sides. And that was $9.99! MCL is real home cooking the way my mom used to cook. I can’t find any place any more like it except for MCL. It’s real comfort food.
