Came at 7:50pm to get food with family. First impression wasn’t good considering both front doors were locked and some child running around had to open it. I understand if an employee couldn’t find childcare or a parent is eating but the kid showed an employee something and the employee seemed aggravated, I understand since I too work in customer service but with customers around it’s not something nice to say whatsoever. I didn’t bother looking at names but one night gentleman did have to open the front door to tell others that the cafe was closed but the drive thru was indeed still open. Floors had multiple order stickers too which wasn’t very cleanly.

What is with McDonald’s employees now a days? All I was asking was what time does breakfast start so that I don’t have to drive all the way to the store only to find that you can’t make the order.
Then I spend 30 minutes trying to get support to cancel the order.
I don’t know about other dashers but from my end I can’t see what the customer orders until I arrive at the establishment. Then and only then can I see. So when I pulled up tonight and was told it’s breakfast, I responded with ok thanks but then I asked again what time does it start so I’ll know ahead of time to contact the customer, but you ignored me just like the other McDonald’s. Was I rude? No. So why such bad treatment? Try driving around in a busted car all day long and get horrible treatment from people and still remain positive. Yeah it’s not easy but you don’t see me being rude. Do better.

As if changing the decor to that of a prison or institution wasn’t bad enough. This one can never get anything ready. Always make you pull around the building and park to wait. The kid that takes orders is good. Everyone else there is lazy, or just hates their job. Always, ALWAYS, check your bag before you leave.

In town for the holidays and needed something to feed the kids that was quick and easy. Not only did we wait for over 20 minutes for our food while the employees walked around on their phones but we ordered 2 plain double hamburgers and we literally got 2 buns put together with NO PATTIE… like how do you forget the patties AND proceed to wrap the buns up and send them out. Called the store to let them know and they offered to remake them but I was 10+ minutes away. This is the saddest experience I’ve ever had at a McDonald’s EVER!!!!!!

10/16/2025- one of the worst experiences today at this location. Have visited this place since it’s close to my work. Went today through the drive thru, they were extremely busy. Got food fairly fast but it was incorrect. Had to go inside and they immediately knew I received the wrong order. Waited 25 minutes and never got my order. They took my original receipt and said they’d remake it. They continued to say that for the next 25 minutes and told me it was coming up. Meanwhile, the lobby filled up and orders after my remake were fulfilled. Very unorganized and unprofessional. One staff member was kind and tried several times to say “they were working on it”. Finally they said it needed to be rerang so that it could be made. Seriously?! Finally I requested a refund and had to go to my car to get my card I paid with. Appeared they didn’t have the original receipt I gave them. I told them what was ordered and they refunded my money. I went to the next closest McDonald’s on Telegraph Rd and had my order within 5 minutes. To add a final insult, when I compared the two receipts, this location didn’t refund me correctly. The difference is minor, but isn’t right. Moving forward, I’ll be sure to drive the extra miles to the Telegraph location and never frequent this location again.

I’ve been ordering McDonald’s lemonade since this new kind came out. I’m a bit addicted to it so trust me when I say I’ve had it in multiple states, all sizes. I ordered a medium, 3 dang dollars, and they insisted a “medium lemonade comes in a small cup”. No. It doesn’t. Not from ANY of the places I’ve gone. In fact, the one I go to several times a week and get 2 larges for work, COME IN LARGE CUPS. On top of that, had to wave them down at the window for my ice cream because they didn’t give it to us then proceeded to ignore us at the window.

This I was a very frustrating experience. I have some tips to improve the consumer experience here:

1. Remove the curbside pickup option here. There’s no designated spots, but one sign that is a difficult to see. After driving around the block and finding it, it made me go inside.

2. Don’t expect customers to understand McDonalds terminology. Telling me it’s staged means nothing to me. But when you say that and look at me like I am the problem, it’s very frustrating. I get that you can’t just hand out food to people. But when your technology fails, it’s not my fault.

The older woman at the counter was very nice, though. She kept checking on my orders as I waited. That’s why you get a 2. She doubled your score.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews and I’m not one for drama or conflict, but after a frustrating experience, I wanted to share this honestly.
We decided to give this McDonald’s at 44961 Woodward Ave in Pontiac another try because it looked like they’d completely switched out the staff and management. Historically, service here has been awful—slow, rude, mistakes—so we normally drive a bit farther to the one on South Telegraph in Bloomfield Hills, which is always reliable with great, friendly service.
This time, we placed a big order (around $80) for me, my three boys, and their three cousins via the kiosk. There was an immediate mix-up with the order. When I asked politely if we could cancel or correct it before it went too far, the employee said no because it was kiosk-processed—which I understand might be policy—but she was quite rude and short-tempered about it, like she was having a bad day and taking it out on us (with kids right there, which made it extra uncomfortable).
The food came out eventually, but then I overheard her going back to coworkers and gossiping negatively about me and the kids—nothing I could directly confront, but the tone was clear and unprofessional.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the changes I hoped for (new staff/management) have improved things. The vibe still feels off and toxic, with the same consistent bad service we’ve experienced before.
If you’re in the area, I’d skip this one and go to the South Telegraph location in Bloomfield Hills instead—it’s worth the short extra drive for accurate orders and actually friendly people.
1 star: The food is standard McDonald’s, but the service and attitude really hurt the experience. Won’t be returning here.
