Nine times out of ten, the food is cold, or been under a heating lamp for way too long, the coffee is almost never fresh & is referred to by many as McDonald’s “stump water.” The soft drinks are large & now cost a fortune but are so “watered down” by the time you pick them up at the drive-thru or if not watered down immediately upon receiving them they surely will be mostly water within a few short minutes.
Breakfast items tend to be somewhat better food in general than any of the lunch or dinner items. Burgers are at best either lukewarm (dry meat & hardened bun from sitting under heat lamp ) or just simply stone cold.
Lastly, the french fries are almost always as hard as a rock. I never order fries for myself here at this location anymore. In all honesty, there doesn’t seem to ever be a time that fresh piping hot food is served- that is unless you are lucky enough to be the first in line for early morning breakfast (5:30 a.m.)
This McDonalds’ is located in Red Bay, ( a small rural town in the upper NW corner of Alabama) and is situated very near to the local elementary, high school, and football, & baseball fields, so it is very convenient for the kids & teenagers who still sure seem to enjoy it. It’s a kid friendly place- and sort of a local hangout for the teens.
I will give this specific location kudos on two things that they consistently seem to do well on and that is: #1). Any treat containing “ice cream”
(e.g. shakes, cones, McFlurries etc ) and #2). Sweet tea
Cleanliness: 5 star
Workers: 5 star
Decore & atmosphere: 4 star. Too many mute colors for my taste. And the fake wood clashed with the tile.
Comfortable booths: 5 star
Staff picking up every spec of stuff left behind: 5 star
Kudos
