The chef and the staff were amazing. So many laughs and good energy was shared. During restaurant week they shared a specific menu. I had not experienced a grilled Ceasars salad or sugar cookie cheesecake. I’m totally thankful for the experience. Good food. Great service. Amazing atmosphere.

We had dinner here 5/06/23. We walked right in and got a great table upstairs. We were celebrating our son’s graduation from NC State. Wow!!!! What an amazing culinary journey. Their offerings are all fresh. I was speechless with the presentation as well as the taste of the food. We had six people in our party and had a variety of their items. Their bar menu is also unique and very tasty. I ordered the Korean BBQ beef entree. It was nothing short of extraordinary. Perfect. Well seasoned with fresh herbs. My wife had Soft Shell Crab with fettuccine. Amazing. I keep saying amazing because it was one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever had. We asked to meet the chef, Maggie. Wow!!! She is an artist of fine cuisine. I wish I lived closer so I could go back. I will stop there when I am passing through the area. If you are reading this review, trust me, this is the spot for you to eat. It was a phenomenal evening. A perfect place to celebrate and share their menu. Perfect. Thank you Maggie and staff for the amazing meal and atmosphere. Thank you!!!

Disappointing. For those that went to the “old” Maximilian’s, the “new” Maximillians is nothing like its predecessor unfortunately. The staff when we went recently seemed inexperienced and not sure what they were doing. The majority of them hung around the hostess stand talking and looking over and watching us throughout our meal. The menu also has changed. Missing are the wonderful pasta dishes with delicious sauces. Getting a off putting vibe we opted to only order items from the appetizer menu and cocktails. Went with a wine (safe choice) and the Spring Sangria. The sangria had a good flavor but it was chunky and not with large pieces of fresh fruit. Rather the fruit was “blended” but not not enough to make it smooth to drink and particles lingered in your mouth and teeth. On to food…. Ordered the focaccia of the day which was roasted garlic. Was served resembling corn bread with lemon peels on top. No garlic to be found or tasted. It was dry and unflavorful. Don’t order it, a waste of $7. One person ordered the apple and blue cheese salad. It would have been better perhaps if there would have been some blue cheese on it. There wasn’t. Had to ask for more which they did bring. Next was the grilled chaser salad. Hard to screw up, so it was ok. Croutons on the side were the size of softballs. Lastly, the cauliflower flat bread. Yikes. I would have been better off getting a frozen pizza from the grocery store…well, thinking back, thats what they actually might have done. It wasn’t a flat bread at all but a round premade crust. The pizza was over cooked and bland. It was void of the balsamic reduction drizzle. The bill came to about $90…way too much money for the service and food we received.

Outstanding from start to finish! Wait staff was wonderful. Food was best I’ve ever had. Plating was phenomenal and the atmosphere is perfect! Highly recommend the focaccia and calamari appetizers, Korean BBQ beef and mountain trout! All out of this world

Came here to celebrate a graduation. The food was fantastic, and our server was a younger gentleman who was very attentive and funny. I wish I could remember his name. The vibes are relaxed and the restaurant is lovely. Would strongly recommend for an upscale dining experience in Raleigh.

This was THE most delicious meal I’ve had on my entire trip to Raleigh! From the Old Fashioned being flawless and delicious to the bone marrow that was just out of this world! It had lemon shavings and pickled onions that just brought it to the next level!! And my bolognese was delightful! Spicier than I expected but welcome all the same. Took a few bites to get used to but wow!! What a great meal! I wish I had had room for dessert! I’m so sad they aren’t open on Sundays and Mondays. I’d go back again before my trip was over. Sadly I leave on Monday though.

Really disappointing overall. The mix of seasoning in the dish I had was trying to be original and creative but failed in tasting good…especially the sesame Asian slaw which was practically inedible. The upside was that the trout was of a good quality and correctly cooked…too bad about the choice of seasoning. The wine I ordered, ostensibly an Oregon Pinot Noir ( but I can’t be sure since instead of pouring it at the table in front of us, the glasses were brought to the table pre-poured…so it could have been anything) tasted like a common table wine. The desserts were not written down (so you don’t know the price unless you ask) and I wasn’t impressed by the somewhat heavy on the buttercream cream coconut cake. The coffee (filter only since they don’t have an espresso machine) was drinkable but not really good. The lighting was dim enough that we had to use our smartphone light to read the bill. All in all, expensive and truly not great. A restaurant that I would avoid. Edit: Note to the owner: the reason I didn’t say anything was because I was a guest of someone who had invited me for a job interview and I didn’t want to make a scene and put in question his restaurant choice…so I didn’t speak up (but I also didn’t say anything to the effect that the meal was wonderful either)

This is an amazing experience you have to try!!! The food was phenomenal! The service was impeccable so attentive and kind. They make you feel like family. The appetizers, the main courses (ribeye Korean beef and a chefs special with stuffed peppers )were insanely creative and everything was so flavorful and delicious! Huge portions too! And the desserts are all from scratch peanut butter pie was to die for so creamy, the crème brûlée was so smooth, the flourless chocolate tort was so rich and delicious and the key lime pie with graham cracker crust superb! I’m ready to go back again and this will be my new favorite restaurant!!!!
