A little restaurant with many local customers—waitresses greeted several people by name as they walk in, and quite a few people sat down and ordered right away without even looking at the menu.
You just walk in, find a seat, and sit down. Someone will come to you and bring you the menu. The waitresses are very friendly and highly efficient. There are roughly 30 tables and an open kitchen, so if you sit at the bar area, you can watch the chef cook. It’s very busy—packed by 5 pm on a Friday. We ended up waiting a while for our food.
We ordered the seafood platter (all fried) to share. The price can’t be beaten. The food was overall okay, flounder had some bones in there and other fried items tasted as expected. BUT, the devil crab was really delicious. We’d probably reorder that if we ever return.

Hand down my last visit was horrible idk what happened but my husband got tea spilled on him. Our food took 48 minutes to get and was over cooked, then my daughter didnt feel great so she didn’t want anything but I asked for a empty plate just incase I could talk her into eating some fries but
But she never took anything… then I got the bill and they chaged me 7.+ for a empty plate !!! Never again !!

This isn’t what it looks like from the outside. Little dining rooms help keep people flowing. I preferred a friend chicken house salad. First the chicken just came out of the fryer it was so hot. Two, the salad was large and it had to have been 1/2 chicken on there. I dare say the very best garden salad I’ve ever eaten. Like so small town establishs everyone knows everyone, what the regulars like, they family, friends. Even the pick up laminate counter tops were worn through. It’s very pleasant to be away from the impersonal dining world in the biggest cities.
We did notice to use the restroom you have to walk outside into the two bathrooms. Maybe an old gas station.

Disappointed today ..ordered hotdogs to go and it is only a 5 minute drive home…. but the chilli was cold on one and lukewarm on the other.. usually the chilli is still good and warm when I get home so maybe they had just started heating the chilli up …. usually their hotdogs are good

First time I went here it was awesome loved everything about it and it wasnt terribly expensive, came back again and we waited 50 minutes for our food and it was burnt and our waiter asked us if we wanted a extra empty plate and we said yes and we went to pay and they charged us 7$ for the empty plate!

Wow! Matty’s is great. Huge portions and they have the same price point as other local restaurants. Lots of parking to the rear of the restaurant, offers dine in and takeout. I’m happy we called our order in because there weren’t any tables left during lunch rush. We will definitely go back.
