Reviews
Our plan for an early Valentine’s Day dinner date in Ft Wayne changed to a trip to Columbus to visit a friend with dinner after. Our hostess/server, Sophia, was friendly at the start, but when I mentioned this she made everything just a little more special. And we both learned why saline is added to crafted cocktails! (Flavor enhancement due to salt )
My husband got Matt’s signature salad with added steak, (which was also the side salad with my meal). It’s a simple salad with great fresh ingredients and flavor. That salad dressing is amazing! I had the 10oz Kobe sirloin with baked potato. It was perfectly cooked. I tried one of the Winter Cocktails which was good, and didn’t taste of heavy alcohol. We had a few bites of chocolate mousse cake with whipped cream for dessert. Everything was delicious and we’re planning to come back here with friends.
The restaurant offers a selection of wines, draft beers, cocktails, and bourbon. For our entrees, my husband ordered the prime rib and I ordered the walleye. My husband said the outer part of the prime rib was good, but the middle was dry. However, the onion rings were exceptional and worth the $3 extra. He also enjoyed the Miller salad.
The walleye literally melts in the mouth and the mashed potatoes are perfect. I would order this again and again.
I had a cocktail and my husband had two beers, so our evening came with a $125 bill. For a special occasion, we would happily spend this money here again. I can’t speak for people who dine out frequently, but for couples with children who rarely get a night away, this is exactly what we hoped for. Thank you to everyone who made this a night to remember.
The meatloaf is unbelievable—packed with flavor and so delicious—but honestly, everything I’ve ever had here has been excellent. Our server (whose name I sadly forget since I waited too long to write this review) was fantastic, attentive, and made the experience even better.
This location is a little smaller than others, and while I’d recommend making reservations just to be safe, it doesn’t usually get as busy as some of the other spots I know of.
Prices are a bit on the higher side—expect to spend around $50–$60 for two people, and $80–$90 for three, depending on what you order—but the quality makes it worth every penny.
I’ll definitely be back soon, and I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. If you haven’t been, you need to go!

Now, let’s talk about the food! The fish and chips were delicious and served in a generous portion. I absolutely loved the onion rings—light and crispy, just like they should be! The fries reminded me of those classic British fat fries, a real treat. And the shrimp and grits? Perfectly sized and bursting with flavor! The kids also enjoyed their chicken tenders and fries, so it was a hit for the whole family.
This place is great for family outings, hanging out with friends, or even going on a date! Plus, they accept credit cards, and there’s plenty of free parking in their lot. Enjoy your visit!
Please, just take this advice: they have THE BEST TOMATO SOUP I HAVE TASTED MY ENTIRE LIFE. This is MY TO GO PLACE FOR MY TOMATO SOUP.
Dreaming the day I’ll be back there!!!
We had the Fish and Chips with macaroni and cheese. I had a coffee martini. Everything was wonderful.
