If you haven’t been to Masonry Café in Yelm, tucked inside the old firehouse, you’re absolutely missing out. Lisa and her team have created something truly special, the kind of breakfast spot that feels like home the second you walk in, and tastes even better.
We stopped in for breakfast and were blown away. I ordered the eggs benedict and… WOW. Perfectly poached eggs, velvety hollandaise, thick-cut ham, fresh tomato, microgreens on top, every bite was rich, balanced, and honestly one of the best bennys I’ve had in a long time. The potatoes were crispy and seasoned just right. It looked gorgeous on the plate and tasted even better.
We also tried the avocado toast with scrambled eggs, stacked tall and drizzled with balsamic. The bread was toasted perfectly, the avocado was creamy, the eggs were fluffy, and the microgreens added such a fresh pop. It was delicious, filling, and beautifully plated.
Lisa herself is warm, welcoming, and makes you feel like you’re being served by a friend who genuinely loves what she does. That kind of hospitality makes all the difference, and it shows in the food, the atmosphere, and the entire experience.
This little café is a gem in Yelm, great food, great energy, and seriously worth the visit. We’ll definitely be coming back.

We will definitely be back! The server was very sweet, but the service was slow. We saw multiple people standing behind the counter a few times, but she was the only one visibly doing anything.

So many things on the menu I can’t wait to try. Fresh sourdough baked daily, but you have to get there early because they sell out quickly. Lots of other baked goods and tons of cheesecake flavors. We got the pesto chicken sandwich with fries and the Italian wrap with pasta salad. The pasta salad was super good. Had bacon bits in it which was a nice surprise. The wrap definitely had too much lettuce but still good flavors. The sandwich was really good but needed more pesto, then it would have been great. Fries were how I prefer them, more soft than crunchy. Can’t wait to go back

Masonary Cafe catered the desserts for one of our weddings at Larkin Place in Olympia. They were prompt, friendly and helpful in their setup. Their desserts were gorgeous on display and were absolutely delicious! Just the right amount of sweetness, airiness, and texture. They hit it out of the park!

This version of Masonry on the Green diner has been open for three weeks (as of 3 Feb ‘26). Some of the photos and reviews for this place are outdated/obsolete. It is not located in an old fire house.

With that said, this place is a must try. I ordered the Mess on I5 which is a hearty dish of braised beef, eggs, hash browns, onions, and sausage gravy, served with toast. A breakfast shepherd’s pie if you will. At $19 it is one of the pricier breakfast dishes on the menu, but the large amount of beef makes it feel like a bargain. The young lady who waited on me was very friendly, and the food came out very quickly.
There is patio seating for the warmer months and large, window-filled overhead doors that provide expansive views of Eagle’s Pride golf course if you’re sitting inside.
Highly recommend.

Our first experience at Masonary was breakfast on our Anniversary and we’ve been coming back every chance we get ❤️ We love their breakfast menu and specials. My favorite is the Green Eggs and Ham – delicious ham steak, the perfect balance of spinach & pesto scrambled eggs with a side of country potatoes and a slice of their yummy homemade sourdough bread Not only is everything we order scrumptious, the atmosphere and friendly team makes this our favorite breakfast spot! With generous portions, we get stuffed, but can’t leave without grabbing a loaf of their amazing sourdough bread, plus some cakes and pastries to enjoy later at home ❤️ It does get a little crowded at times, but it’s worth the wait! ❤️

✨ A Hidden Gem with History and Heart – 5 Stars!✨

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at Masonry Cafè, and I can confidently say it was one of the most memorable café experiences I’ve ever had. The building itself is a piece of history—once an old fire station, it’s now been stunningly transformed into a warm, inviting café with so much character and charm. The ambiance alone is worth the visit.

Our server, Riquie, was truly a highlight. She was kind, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. Her positive energy and friendly nature added such a personal touch to our meal.

Speaking of the food—WOW. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, with generous portions that were more than worth the price. Every bite felt thoughtful and flavorful, and the presentation was just as impressive as the taste.

Whether you’re looking for a cozy brunch spot, a unique place to bring friends, or just a relaxing place to enjoy great food and service, Masonry Café delivers on all fronts. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit!

Excellent food. Great service. A little bit of a wait for food but well worth the wait. I recommend the club sandwich. They have a kids menu. Parking was a little difficult to find. Plenty of tables including booths inside. You seat yourself and a waitress will assist you. Pay at the counter at the end of your meal. They have a variety of baked goods including cheesecakes, cookies and sourdough bread.

Masonry, in Yelm, has been one of our go to restaurants. I have never written a review on them before. Today changed all that.

Ray and I were setting up our confidence building course for this weekend. One of our employees came out to assist. Her birthday was 4/30, so when we took a much needed break and took her out to lunch.

Masonry is in the old Yelm firehouse. The big rollup doors are on the north side of the restaurant and work. It is nice when the doors are open in a nice day. Unfortunately, the road noise tends to be a problem. The staff work hard to find a happy medium for everyone.

We were greeted by all of the staff when we arrived. There were a few open tables so we told to pick one and sat down. Menus and water delivered right away. I debated having a margarita but I knew I had more arena work to do, so I passed.

Grace ordered the chicken bacon ranch wrap with their artisan hand made onion rings, Ray ordered the California Grilled Chicken on Ciabatta bun with fries, and I ordered the BLT on homemade sourdough with fries.

Our meals came out hot and individually prepared. My sandwich was well loaded with bacon. Grace’s wrap was huge and well loaded. Ray’s chicken was hot, moist and tender.

Of course, we had to have dessert. Masonry has a HUGE case full of cookies, pastries, homemade cinnamon rolls, and then there is the cake, cheesecake, and specialty dessert case. That case alone is a don’t miss.

When our server learned about Grace’s birthday, she gathered up the chef and came out with a dessert for Grace’s birthday. Fortunately, or unfortunately, for Grace, by the time we settled on dessert, the restaurant was all ours.

All in all, we had another awesome meal. I think we helped Grace have a great birthday albeit a few days late. Beyond a doubt, we will be back for more meals!!!

I visited the original Masonry Cafe in Yelm last year and was delighted in every way. The food, the service, the atmosphere all exceeded our expectations. Unfortunately, nothing about the new location or menu lived up to the old location’s experience. While the new place is clean and shiney, there is an indoor golf simulator at one end that is quite loud and disruptive. Our hopes were high looking forward to a classic benedict for breakfast, but they completely changed how it’s made compared to the old menu. The meal switched the base biscuits with an english muffin. The side potatoes used to be crispy, seasoned, diced/cubed. Now they’re serving something resembling french fry “strips”, only not fried, not crisp just soggy/mushy. They’re not fries, not hash browns – I don’t really know what style of potato they’re supposed to be, but they weren’t good. I know they’ve only been open a short time in the new location, I’m hoping they can make adjustments the bring back much of their old menu. And maybe don’t open the golf simulator until 11 or 12:00.

We used Masonry Cafe for catering services for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding! Shelly and her team are fantastic. We were stunned by an incredible tasting menu and had a difficult time selecting food because it was all fantastic! Shelly was great with making dietary restriction accommodations. Her team was sure to keep mine and my husband’s plates and glasses full which was a great relief on our wedding day. And we would HIGHLY recommend a dessert bar along with your wedding cake. I am so pleased that we had this crew to help make our day the best one ever.
