A hidden gem of a taqueria with a focused, small menu. They fry their tortilla chips to order, and they have a great little salsa bar. I’ve been twice now and ordered the meat burrito both times and found it consistently delicious. However, the real standout for me is the Serrano salsa. It’s very spicy and quite salty, but I became more and more obsessed with it as the meal went on. I first visited solo in February, and it made such an impression that I made this my very first stop when I returned to the area in December. I was beyond delighted to find it was every bit as obsession-worthy as I remembered. Highly recommend!

No frills mom and pop shop. The Green Chili Beef and Red Chili Carnitas are the real deal if you like AZ Hot. Highly recommend for authentic flavors.

Had lunch there today and had an awful experience!! Food is good but service was awful as workers were trying to cheat at charging more by taxing each food item individually and then charging taxes again on total bill. Example, an item on my order was $12.99, charged me 13.41 another item was $1.50 and charged $1.77and then charged taxes on total bill!!!! When I questioned this practice, I was told if I paid in cash I could get a 4% discount! While the $ is small the lack of honesty and integrity was HUGE for me!! I felt like the additional tax was for being black!!! It used to be one of my favorites but they have lost me for ever!

Have come here for over 5yrs and the last year and a half it has gone dramatically down hill. The staff or family that owns this restaurant are incredibly arrogant, rude, impatient and lack any sort of understanding of hospitality industry. They can’t answer a simple question, they rush you, they have zero desire to be there – sad because the food was good. But even that, the portions are going down, they nickle and dime you for every single item, they add miscellaneous charged to your order hoping you don’t look at the bill or notice. It is a total rip off!! I am wondering if the people giving 5 star reviews are going to the same place.

The food had super generous portions.
We got 2 orders of the street tacos. 4 tacos for $12 bucks! And they came with rice and beans.
The customers were Hispanic, gotta be the best.

The Maskadores Taco Shop at this location offers a socially comfortable experience. I enjoyed eating the rolled beef tacos and adding on an amazing mix of authentic ingredients and flavors. I hope to try more of the menu items, friends I was eating with ordered burritos stuffed full of beef and their choice of ingredients. I highly recommend grabbing friends and taking time out to hang out here and savor this food experience!

There are so many hot sauce options! The sauces are very spicy. My husband enjoyed building his own burrito and chimichanga. The staff is very friendly. The art in the restaurant is tasteful and adds a nice ambience. The front outdoor seating faces a beautiful mountain view.

Brought our dog and ate on the patio which was nice. This is a Chipotle style ordering process where the person cooking your food takes your order too. Felt very rushed even though it was 2pm and no one else in line. Ordered chicken
enchiladas and the cook asked (after multiple attempts) what kind of chicken which was odd. If you like ordering every single option for a simple plate, this is a place to go. If you want a nice sit down atmosphere where a waitress takes your order, go someplace else. Food was mediocre at best.

Really like this little place. Stopped there for the first time, just before Christmas. Great artwork on the walls, and great food. The staff tried to warn me that what I was ordering may be a bit spicy for my liking. I was feeling brave, but they were right. It was still delicious though. But ask questions and listen to the staff when it comes to recommendations. They are very helpful.
If I have a complaint, it’s that it’s in an odd part of town. There are a few other restaurants there, but it’s certainly not in what I’d call the main part of town. Though I imagine the rent is more reasonable there, so I’d rather take Fountain Hills WITH this great little taco shop than be without them because rent was too high in another part of town.
