Heads up: cash only! Local pub/dive bar with fantastic food! We came on a Sunday afternoon at about 4:00 PM. There were a few regulars at the bar, we seated ourselves at a table. The fried food was excellent! We had fried pickles, fried green beans, the ham & Swiss sandwich, and the bacon cheese burger with fries. The fried pickles came with a garlic aioli kind of sauce and the fried green beans with a Sriracha mayo type sauce. Parking was fairly open around back, but I can see on a busy night it might be hard to come by a spot. It was reasonably priced and tasty! Our two apps and two sandwiches were only $32.

This is a place that I’ve visited several times. We were out on a 200-mile day ride with this place being our halfway lunch destination. It didn’t disappoint! Great food (try the Hilton Burger), friendly staff, and a good place to take a break from a great day of riding through the scenic countryside. They also have a nice outside patio with a bar during warm weather months. There are several parks within walking distance and it sits right off of the Kokosing Gap bike and hiking trail.

I stopped here while traveling for work and am blown away at what a lovely mom-and-pop place this is. Food was fantastic (I got the Han & Swiss in the picture) and the fries freshly cut here. Cash only, amazing prices. They put their drink glasses in a deep freezer, so if it’s hot outside this is the best place to get your ice cold drink. Everyone’s friendly here, back patio’s super nice.

The Howard Hilton is just a solid local spot — cold drinks, great food, and good people. Cash only, but there’s an ATM if you need it. They usually have live music, and the staff keeps up no matter how packed it gets. Prices are awesome, and the kitchen kicks out way better food than you’d expect from a dive bar. Definitely worth a stop if you’re near Apple Valley!

Cash only all the way, they have an atm that will ding you 3$ if you pay attention 6$ if you don’t so be ready. Their burgers are top tier and I love taco Tuesday. Its just normal home tacos but they are affordable and I domt have to do dishes.
