We ordered Ramneek’s Butter Chicken (recommended by @ramfoodguy), and it was hands down one of the best I’ve had. I’ve tried butter chicken at many restaurants where it’s usually too sweet and overly creamy, but Masala Tree nailed the balance perfectly—rich, flavorful, and authentic.
We also ordered Amritsari Fish, Tandoori Chicken (Half), and Goat Sukha, and not a single dish disappointed us. Every item was full of flavor and cooked to perfection.
The biggest surprise? My 3-year-old, who is a very fussy eater, absolutely loved the food too ❤️
A special shout-out to Pinky, who was incredibly welcoming and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. Excellent food, warm service, and a great family dining experience. Highly recommend Masala Tree—we’ll definitely be back! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The service was equally impressive. The staff was welcoming, attentive, and made us feel comfortable throughout the visit. You can truly see they care about customer satisfaction.
If you’re looking for great Indian food with excellent service, Masala Tree is definitely a place to visit. Highly recommended!
The paneer pakora was, by far, the best pakora I have ever had, with a light crispy shell full of flavor from spices and a high quality, fluffy paneer inside.
The naan bread was the perfect thickness, with a pillowy exterior and a crisp crunch from the tandoor.
The other standout was the pav bhaji, a rich vegetable stew laced with butter and served with a dinner rolls grilled in more butter that soaked up all the gravy from the dish. It’s not a staple that’s found at all Indian restaurants here, which I appreciated as it helped showcase the authenticity of the place.
I could go on and on about this place but you really have to come here yourself to experience the quality of the food.
I should note that there were several Indian families eating here, which points to the outstanding quality of the food.
Both our waiters, Jaspreet and Happy, were immensely attentive and checked on us several times throughout our meals. Happy in particular wanted to ensure everything was perfect and you could tell he really cares about the quality of the food and the diner’s experience.
This is definitely a hidden gem in Edmonton that’s worth the drive out no matter where you’re coming from.

We went to Masala Tree Indian Kitchen for dinner and had a truly delightful experience. From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly greeted by the male host who promptly guided us to our table. Despite the restaurant being quite busy at the time, the entire staff was serving with cheerful smiles and positive energy.
The ambiance of the restaurant was calm and inviting, with tasteful décor that added to the peaceful dining atmosphere.
For our dinner, we ordered Chili Chicken, Hakka Noodles, Amritsari Fish, and Karak Chai. The Amritsari Fish was the absolute star of the night – perfectly crisp on the outside and incredibly soft and flavorful inside. The Chili Chicken was another standout, cooked with just the right balance of spices and packed with flavor. The Hakka Noodles were also satisfying, with a nice texture and taste. Portion sizes were generous – easily enough for two people per dish.
A special mention goes to Ms. Pinky, the Kitchen Manager, who impressed us with her enthusiasm and knowledge. She kindly took the time to talk to us about the variety of cuisines the restaurant offers and the thought behind each dish.
We left completely satisfied and will definitely return the next time we’re in Edmonton.
Five stars all the way!
