Went out tonight to honor my late grandmother in law’s heavenly birthday. It ended up being one of those dinners you wish you could freeze in time.
The food was incredible from start to finish. We had perfectly cooked strip steaks, codfish, and halibut, along with amazing bacalhau that reminded us of home. The crème brûlée, cheesecake, and tartufo were the perfect sweet ending. Even the chicken fingers and french fries for the kids were great.
The service was excellent — our waiter spoke Portuguese, which made the night feel even more special and welcoming. We truly felt right at home.
It was a beautiful evening filled with family, fun, laughs, and memories. We only wished my wife’s grandmother could have been there with us, but celebrating her made the night even more meaningful.
A dinner we will cherish forever. We will absolutely be back.

Had a wonderful evening at Mar Belo in Long Branch. The only thing is I wish I was there celebrating with my late mom. We the family celebrated her first heavenly birthday surrounded by who she loved most. The food was absolutely delicious, the seafood incredibly fresh, and every dish was beautifully prepared. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere felt elegant yet comfortable.
It’s the kind of place where you can truly relax, enjoy great conversation, and savor authentic Portuguese flavors. Definitely a gem at the Jersey Shore and a place I look forward to visiting again. People dining were also super friendly…. So it’s also family oriented. Parking was behind the restaurant, so you need to make that quick left before the restaurant.

I made a reservation but for some reason, it didn’t go through. I did not receive a confirmation email. I went to the restaurant and the hostess gave me no attitude and no hard time she was so sweet. She took care of me right away. Amazing Service!!!

Great food and service. Went with work group, solid bar menu, apps were very good. Split the tomahawk with a coworker and it was cooked to temp, split some deserts and they were delicious. Highly recommend.

12 years since I went there for the 1st time and still my favorite restaurant, Carlos my favorite table attendant, always a good chat and vibes, also thanks Paulo to make the arrangements that we need, and provide us a great place. There was my first time at this place and I loved everything about this place from the first step in . First of all we didn’t not have a reservation and that was a Saturday night . Restaurant was packed what definitely was a good sign for me . The stuff was so helpful and we got a table faster than we could expect. Everything was so organized and service was excellent . Food was delicious too. Usually when we want to have a dinner a-La- Portuguese we go to Newark NJ . Was a nice surprise for us to discover this place visiting the shore ! So my favorite was a red sungria , grilled octopus and seafood paella definitely coming back to try more
