For a small town, this restaurant did well to meet the needs of the tourist passing on through. There were two waitresses with a ton of people eating. They have a nice outside area that allows dogs. Food Ivan be categorized as “Bar food.” That’s what I was craving and met my needs. Great atmosphere.

My family stopped there on the way back to Madison, WI. We met other Wisconsin people there. There were so rightwing posters that showed some of the weird stereotypes they have of urban people. The food was good, and the people were nice. I wouldn’t avoid then on account of the rightwing stuff because the signs indicated they won’t be bullied by political liberals, and it’s good for them to see people like my family in Madison have no thought or desire to do so.

Let me start by saying that this establishment has a cool vibe to it if you are into the biker bar feel. The staff was polite and overall it was a laid back place for a lunch stop in a tourist town. Where things went south is when the food arrived. Upon my servers suggestion I ordered the nachos. When they arrived at the table it was chips, canned nacho cheese, reheated chicken and no less than half a head of lettuce with unmelted shredded cheese on top. As you can see in my pics I dug the center out of the nachos only to find even more lettuce. I tried to eat what I could of the dish then simply gave up, paid my check and opted for lunch elsewhere.

Under new management. Hope they get better. Stopped in for lunch September 3. Our server never informed our table there was a lunch special. We ordered our beverages and it took a little while but we finally got them. We then ordered our lunches and the server left. After 20 or so minutes, the server told part of our party they were out of onion rings. Changed to something else. About 10 minutes later, another server came to tell us they were out of tortillas and my wife’s taco salad and my burrito couldn’t be made. We made other selections and I guess our changes got put at the end of the line. Our friends were done eating long before we even got our food. People who arrived after us were done eating and gone before we got our food. It finally came and it wasn’t great. I got the shredded chicken nachos. Bland. No seasoning on the chicken at all. Canned cheese. The menu tauted homemade Tex Mex, but it wasn’t anything different than what you can get at Taco Bell. We also had to remind our server of our second round of beverages. They knew our experience was so bad, they comp’d our entire meal and drinks. If they hadn’t done anything, it would have been one star. Good luck, Mangy Moose!

Seemed short staffed, but the waitress/server were so nice, friendly and patient. Food was so good. We all got something different to try each other’s food. We got the OG beef nachos and bbq pork nachos, pulled pork sandwich, swiss and ham sandwich, fried hotdog , mac and cheese, onion rings, fries, and the delicious beer cheese dip. Recommend the lemonade. The bbq sauce they use is Definitely what we needed after walking around Mount Rushmore. Thank y’all!
