Honestly, had a great time. Ambient was great and my server, Dora, was amazing. The burger she suggested is quite unlike any other gourmet joint I’ve had the chance to visit. All in all, had a wonderful time and the service was even better.

Visited Mambo’s in Mission, Tx end of this HOT Summer June month w/our Tias (aunts) residents of RGV whom recommended this place. Seafood here is definitely fresh & delicious, satisfying & well worth it’s up scale price compared to other,”run of the mill,” restaurants. Their cucumber agua fresca w/piquete (cucumber water w/vodka) is definitely a must taste! Without piquete is also just as good. Service while we dined was a bit busy where some of us that had hot food orders were out while others had to wait for ours when our order was a cold prep (vuelve a la vida cocktail) which should have been a breeze to have everyone’s food out for all to enjoy together. I should have placed the to go order of grilled huachinango (Red Snapper) while we dined for our convalescent Tia (aunt) due to the 20 min wait our gentleman server warned. No worries, we enjoyed our time shared w/Tias while we dined & waited. However, 20 minutes seemed longer. Tipped handsomely for gr8 food. Even as we were leaving, server was kind enough to run outside w/a lemonade to go we had forgotten/left behind. That was nice of the gentleman considering it was a busy day for them. Will most definitely return here in the future.

My man and I come here because we love oysters they are always super fresh and super big, this is the only place in I know where they cut them away from the shell and that makes them easy to eat and obviously not even two dozen would not be enough for you, especially in company of the girl at the bar who always have something to talk, thanks to Ellie for the great service

Update: we tried this place again. Service was great and food was good. Just didn’t like the scampi shrimp, only because it was swimming in the buttery sauce. The Diablo sauce was spicy as noted. Went to try this place out and picked up take out last night. All workers were very nice and helpful! There a couple of things they could improve: time – Only thing was I ordered and the young lady stated it would be 15 minutes. It took more like 25 minutes. I ordered #1 & #10 and a side order of fries. 2- consider a different batter- The fish and shrimp were batter, not greasy but thick. 3 – consistency- The stuffed shrimp were not what menu said, not large, two small shrimp and two large ones. The shrimp rice was good but a little greasy, grilled veggies were very good and spicy spices were good.

The fried rice is a specialty and it’s super delicious, service is always good as they are always fully staffed. Seating is spaced out and restaurant is big and always feels clean. Prices are average foe seafood plates and they are well served

Had an awesome night at Mambo’s. I’m not really fond of seafood except if it’s fried and accompanied by a good sauce, and that’s exactly what I got. The tilapia chicharrones were delicious and I loved the tartar sauce as well. Our server Dora was so sweet and nice to us. Overall, great experience.

It’s alright. A shift change occurred in between placing an order and receiving the food. I received a dish I did not order. The entire experience was… Okay. Just not great. Maybe it was an off day. I’m willing to try them again.
