I was looking for Malaysian/Singaporean food and stopped here, and it was delicious! Juju was very friendly and helped me decide between all of the delicious dishes!
I grew up in Singapore and felt the curry puffs and beef chow fun were perfectly authentic. The beef chow fun had a char that is indescribable – reminded me a lot of the char on properly done satay. The curry puffs were soft and buttery and perfectly crispy.
I also ordered the hainanese curry noodle soup that was also excellent – the chicken was tender even though it’s fried, and the curry was similar to a curry laksa.
Overall, highly recommend, and I will be back!

Food was sooooo delicious!!! I just got over the flu or something like it, and this was just what I needed The curry chicken has the perfect curry flavor!! The sesame chicken taste perfect! I ended up mixing the curry chicken and olive fried rice with the pumpkin soup, AMAZING combo! Not really a fan of the eggplant but it’s not bad. Most of this would have came with a side of rice, I opted out and chose to only get the olive fried rice. The sesame chicken and Mongolian chicken that my bf ordered came with rice also. Delicious and healthy food option if you’re ever in the area.

Mamak has been on my list for a while rn, so headed over to try this popular Malaysian spot on a Saturday evening. It was quite crowded so we put down a spot on the waitlist. The wait wasn’t too long and we got seated fairly quickly. It is a bit crammed in there and gets noisy ofc since the tables are quite close to each other.
We ended up getting their curry puff pastry and Kari fish fillet that comes with rice. Both of the dishes were absolutely delicious! Explosion of flavor, not as spicy as I would have liked but overall great!
There were so many other dishes that I wanted to try but their menu is large and love that they label what are in the dishes. We got the food very quickly and overall glad I tried the spot.
This complex gets quite busy as it is in the Sweet Hut plaza so be prepared to look for parking and there are some spots tucked away in the back.

I LOVE Mamak! It’s been one of my favorite restaurants for the past three years. The staff is always nice and service is very quick.
Truly some of my favorite food in the city. These are my favorites:
Roti Canai – the best roti I’ve ever had with a perfect curry
Green Beans
Sambal Okra
Congee with Century Egg and Pork – a perfect, gingery rice porridge
Kari Fish Filet – fish in a delicious curry
Hainanese Chicken – poached chicken with an amazing rice cooked in the chicken broth
Hainanese Chicken Loh Mee
Thai Tea – not too sweet, the best in the city

There is plenty parking space, and service was courteous. I was expecting more Malaysian food, the menu shows about 3/4 are Chinese food, specially Cantonese food. My wife ordered CHOW KWAY TEOW (炒粿條)and I ordered CURRY LAKSA (咖喱麵). both were very good and tasty. For the fried noodle I liked the chewy noodle, but the squid part was little hard to chew; I liked my Curry Laksa noodle, which was creamy and right amount of spicy, I really like it, but the noodle can be better. BTW, Roti Canai was also good with Laksa dip sauce.

The tofu potato and chicken were both cut into pieces that were way too large; they really could have been cut smaller so they’d absorb the flavor better. The curry tasted like it had a lot of MSG in it, and I felt like drinking water afterward.

I went here with my mother around noon this Tuesday. We ordered two Roti Canai (one each) and the Kari Fish Fillet. The curry sauce was absolutely delicious, creamy, flavorful, and paired perfectly with the roti. I also liked that the sauce had more than just liquid. It included a piece of potato and chicken. I always love eating the potato once I’m done with my roti.
The Kari Fish was good as well, though the vegetables in it were a bit overripe. I appreciate that each table had its own water jug, so we didn’t have to ask the server for refills as often.
I used to eat at Mamak frequently before quarantine, but since moving farther away, I don’t visit as often. I’m glad to say it’s still just as good as I remembered.
I also recommend trying the Rendang Beef, the meat is very tender, and the rich sauce tastes amazing with rice.

I brought my family to this restaurant and ordered nasi lemak, which was nice. However, I was very disappointed with the service after paying the bill. The restaurant staff forced me to leave a tip, saying I must pay 10–15% and that it was not optional. She even refused to let us leave until we paid a $10 tip, even though the bill already included tax. This experience made my family and me feel uncomfortable and unhappy. Tips should be a choice, not something forced.

It’s in a strip mall. Not much to the decor. But let’s be real, you’re coming for the food. The beef was tender and flavorful. Vegetables were crisp tender. Sauce had just the right amount of spice. Okra was mid for me, still to gummy. Okra.. you either love it or hate it. The chicken dish.. this was great, the sauce was complex, sweet with nice heat at the back. If I was to eat here again.. I would order the chicken again.

Small and good Malaysian restaurant. We started with chicken skewers, then ordered okra, salt & pepper squid, walnut shrimp, curry laksa. The food came with a bowl of white rice. Everything we ordered was delicious!! They have ice teas and soft drinks but don’t serve alcohol beverages in October 2025. Free and big parking lot available. It’s located in the same shopping center as the sweet hut bakery.
