It was a Father / Son aka “bro day” with my son which lead us to this Cajun Gem in Columbia. We both got the Mama special and boy she served it up special. The seafood Gumbo was on point and the Jambalaya and Red Beans and rice took me back to Southwest Louisiana. So good….and we purchased one of her homemade King Cakes. Thank you Mama Sucre for keeping it truly the authentic Southwest Louisiana Cajun way of eating with your cooking and dat Cajun accent sha!

Mama Sucre’s is the real deal!!!! My husband and I lived in Louisiana (Covington to be exact) for about 3 years before making our way to Columbia, TN. Thats most definitely long enough to know what good Louisiana Cajun cookin is and is not. Absolutely delicious!!! I had the fried green tomato Po’boy absolutely incredible the remoulade sauce transported me back to Louisiana. My husband had the fried catfish Po’Boy and he was so happy!! We shared crawfish mac n cheese, chicken & sausage gumbo and beignets. Beignets are fried dough but again if you’ve spent anytime in Louisiana you know the perfect beignet is soft in the middle with a little crunch to the edges and smothered in powdered sugar. Everything we had tasted homemade. I would much rather give my money and support for a small business that puts so much thought, love and care into products and services. That’s exactly what you get at Mama Sucre’s a truly authentic Louisiana homemade experience. I’ve also included some photos of the inside, it’s very much a NOLA vibe with the artwork, colors and decor. Highly recommend!!

Heard a lot bad things about this place from Facebook, figured I’d give it a try and see for myself. Brought the fam with me Saturday around 7pm, but it was CLOSED! Giant sign in the window says open till 8pm, so what the heck? Ended up going to the Asian place a couple of doors down.

I have been itching to try this place. Stopped in to try some beignets. Loved that the order was freshly made. Couldn’t wait so we pulled over an ate one. Definitely worth waiting for and a reminder of home. While we were there hubby encouraged me to get some jambalaya. Delish!! He said “I’d eat that again.” Loved the spice and brought such happiness to my palate. Can’t wait to try the Po boys. Loved the friendliness, care, and thought into whom she is serving. Even down to the allergies of shellfish and peanuts. Stop by and support this new business you will be glad you did. Definitely a treasure! Until our next chat mama!!!

If you love authentic Cajun food made fresh, you will love Mama Sucré! This is a very small place and NOT fast food, it is home cooking in a cute little restaurant. Definitely worth any wait and absolutely worth the money. Call ahead if you’ve got your heart set on something in particular, because sometimes they run out- it’s that good!
