I loved Mama Mia Trattoria! My daughter and I ate there after seeing a play downtown January 11, 2026. We were looking for a restaurant that was open on a Sunday and we were craving Italian food. We were not disappointed with our find!

The fresh, seasonal ingredients at Mama Mia Trattoria were served in an intimate, welcoming environment. The restaurant is absolutely charming inside. In fact, I did not take any pictures of the food – I took pictures of the interior of Mama Mia Trattoria.
Everything was served hot and prepared perfectly.

We ordered the Crispy Artichoke Hearts as a first course. They were lightly breaded and served with creamy herb dressing. The dressing made the dish! Crispy artichokes appear on a lot of menus these days, but this dish was unique and very enjoyable.

For my main course I had the
Ricotta Ravioli. The light pasta pillows were stuffed with butternut squash, wild mushrooms, and gorgonzola with a sprinkling of Pepitas.

My daughter had the Cioppino. The seafood stew was described as “a slightly spicy stew of prawns, sea scallops, Oregon white fish, Clams, Spanish chorizo and pomodoro sauce.” My daughter said every ingredient was flavorful and she enjoyed it very much.

It is unfortunate that many of the reviews speak about poor service. The server we had (unfortunately I did not get his name) was excellent. He took the time to describe the dishes to us and brought them out in a manner that was not rushed or too slow.
space.

We will be returning to Mamma Mia Trattoria. We enjoyed the meal, the service, the environment. Everything made the dinner a success!

DELICIOUS, we had the garlic bread, mozzarella, soup, chicken Marsala, and eggplant Parmesan. All of it was just fantastic. The place is beautiful, the staff awesome. 10/10

Over priced, food was okay when asked portion size waitress expressed large portions! That was wrong. Talk about 1/2 portions and way over priced. Never will return dont recommend.

The place was certainly busy, so I’m glad we made a reservation. When we arrived, there were only two staff members running the entire floor, but they kept things moving. The food came out quickly and tasted great, which is a huge plus. It was definitely better than some Italian chain restaurants I’ve tried. I’d happily come back when I have the chance.

This place was absolutely delicious!
Was so excited to have Italian food because we don’t have any Italian at home.
This place did not disappoint! We didn’t have a reservation, but they got us in right away.
And the tiramisu… oh my! We ate it too fast and forgot to take a picture.

Would definitely go back!!!

This was one of our best dining experiences while we stayed in Portland. The food quality certainly stole the show and the portions were large. The food was well balanced and very authentic!

The service was kind and authentic while the atmosphere was clean and calming but the tables could use some warm accent lighting to bring life into the setting. Other cozy touches such as more plants around the open floor plan would make the space more comforting. Thank you!

Adorable Italian place. We came here for their happy hour and enjoyed the drinks and the smaller plates.

We had a lovely meal here and can’t wait to come back! We caught the tail end of happy hour and the staff Lauren and Colton were kind enough to put in an order for us before it ended. The specialty cocktails were delicious & I recommend the Italian Margarita.
The food was phenomenal – the bolognese sauce blew my mind. We were celebrating my birthday and were all trying each others dishes. Everything was stellar… but def save room for dessert! All around from service to food to drink it was exceptional evening.

we had the lasagna, and the Bolognese and split it. Both were fine. Basic but tasty old school neighborhood Italian joint food. They wisely took their petrified veal off the menu, but they are still, I presume, over cooking their chicken farm to sawdust. I would definitely stick to the pasta here unless they have a new kitchen.
