The peppercorn chicken- is wild. It’s spicy, full of flavor, and that tingly numbing sensation is addictive. Again if you appreciate flavor and spice, you’ll enjoy it. Every bite hits different.
The spot feels down-to-earth and all about the food. They do have lunch specials and portions are generous.
My favorite appetizer was the cucumber salad in red chili sauce. The refreshing coolness of the cucumber was beautifully offset by the vibrant heat of the chili. It was a perfect start to the meal.
The chow mein was equally exceptional. The flavor was rich and complex, a testament to the quality of ingredients. I honestly struggled to leave even a single bite behind! It was that good.
Overall, my dining experience was superb. The food was not only delicious but also beautifully presented, reflecting a high level of culinary expertise. I will certainly be recommending your restaurant to friends and family, and I look forward to returning soon.
The food is very good and fresh. Most of the time menu items flagged as spicy gets a big eye roll and riiiight. Not here. The food marked spicy is very spicy, but in a delicious way. We ordered red oil dumplings 3.5/5, spicy and crispy chicken 5/5, Cumin King Pork Hock 4.5/5, and Salt and Pepper Prawns (12) 5/5.
Ordered pickup.
Dan Dan noodles
Green onion shrimp
Mala crunchy duo
Chicken stock potstickers.
I got the noodles no pork (beef instead). When I came to pick up the order the young man asked if I ate pork, I replied “no” and he said he wanted to make sure I knew the potstickers were pork. While that order was for my guy, I wanted to say I appreciated the young man noting that. It was thoughtful and good service. Thank you!
Update: recent visit had us enjoy spinach stir, pork with crispy rice, gyoza, and cold beef tendon. All of them are delicious. However, the cumin lamb we also ordered was not to our liking. It tasted gamey(膻气)and hard to chew, not tender at all.
Update: highly recommend Dan Dan noodle. The sauce and the texture of the noodle are perfect and we finished everything. The spicy chicken cones and shredded pork were also alright
Just a heads up: our car was broken into in the parking lot, so just be aware of that. I’d still go to this spot, but just watch your surroundings.
Ordered the hot & sour soup, chicken fried rice, and cumin lamb. Everything, especially the fried rice, was SUPER salty. We never received the stir fried cabbage that we ordered.
….and one of the worst parts…..i requested a refill on iced tea. Instead of bringing me a new glass, they took the glass I was using to the back. I had a direct view of the kitchen/beverage station & witnessed the staff use her hands to pick up my straw to put more ice in the glass. She then placed the straw back in the glasses.
This was my 3rd or 4th visit to this restaurant and definitely won’t be returning.
I ordered the Spicy and Crispy chicken, since I saw that come up in recommendations a lot. And I was expecting something very intense, like Buffalo chicken, but true to the idea behind the name, the spiciness of this chicken is very bright and tingly, and combined with the lemon flavor going on, there’s no sense of heaviness to this dish at all. I paired mine with the Stubborn Ox cocktail, which was super floral and refreshing, and only accented the brightness of the chicken all the more.
In short, I don’t think dining here will necessarily replace the experience of ordering a big bag of sweet, saucy takeout, but it is an ENTIRELY different experience, and one I will be recommending to anyone in the area going forward.
