I’ve been to Main and Mill at least 15 times in the last few years… And I wish it was still my favorite restaurant. The short of it is the food is not the same mouth watering experience I remember. Last night I got the ribeye and swear it wasn’t salted at all. It’s strange, since I’ve had the steak salad a few times and really love the flavor there. I also feel the same about the baked Mac n cheese I’ve had on other visits… Highly under seasoned. Plus the hush puppies my partner ordered last night were burnt. Also, sitting at the bar is great if you want to have to call your server over to order, ask for silverware, ask what’s on the desert menu (wasn’t offered when we finished our meal), etc. The bartender can be really arrogant, and we watched the other boys make jokes about us. Our regular server, Anna Bacon, wouldn’t have let any of that happen. Overall it’s still a fine place and I do like the steak salad and kimchi flank steak (pictures from previous visits), but I’ll trust my own kitchen before ordering the ribeye or Mac and cheese at Main & Mill again.

A friend and I went Wednesday for dinner and it was her first time. It was an all-around pleasant experience! The host was welcoming, he had a great smile. Zeke was our server and he was fantastic, great personality and somehow sold me on trying the pork shank. The cooks nailed it on our appetizers and entrees as well as the bartenders who made our drinks 10/10. I have been a few times before and have never encountered a rude staff member or bad food experience.

This was my second and my husbands first time at Main and Mill. We ordered the channel orange- which was very good. We had the belly and Brussels which was delicious. I had clam chowder which was delicious (the best around imo). I ordered the shrimp and grits, which was delicious but not the best. The tails were left on the shrimp which was annoying to stick my fingers in the dish everytime. My husband ordered the main burger, and he said it was delicious but really loved the Mac and cheese.
My previous meal was honey glazed salmon which was no longer on the menu. And that was delicious as was the crab drip.

Atmosphere was great. I made a reservation for 7:45, didn’t eat until 9:45. Our server forgot about us multiple times. We went 20+ minutes without drinks. They needed up taking our food off of our ticket because it took so long. When we got our food, the rissoto was cold. Food was good. But service was just horrible. I don’t even think we will go back.

Food was really good! We got the steamed oysters, fried shrimp, scallop linguine, and the Ribeye/mac&cheese. Quality meat and seafood. Mac and cheese is awesome!
Only downside is presentation of the steamed oysters, they were served in a bowl and not in the shell which was a bit odd.

By far one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The oysters, drinks and all menu choices will keep you coming back for more. Over time I have tried nearly everything on the menu. The owner is a super nice guy who actually cares about his customers satisfaction. Hard to find that these days.

This is a beautiful space for a restaurant. I assume the low lighting is to help build the ambiance however, it could be a little brighter and not take away from the feel imo. Our server was amazing. She made recommendations when I asked. She was attentive and friendly. Our food and drinks came out quick and were brought by other people who were also very friendly. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The apps I ordered were good and the presentation was very pretty. Alot of things just seemed to be lacking opportunities for flavor.
For example one of the apps I ordered was pork belly cubes and roasted brussels sprouts over a bed of grits. The sprouts were perfectly seasoned and absolutely delicious but the pork belly although it was very moist and seemed to be cooked well, had no flavor. I loved the consistency of the grits but they also had no flavor.
The fried green tomatoes looked great and the sauce was delicious but the actual fried tomatoes had no distinguishable flavor.
The baked mac and cheese looked amazing on the surface but was also bland. It also has a layer of what I assume was butter at the bottom of the dish. It wasn’t creamy like I expected and it had no flavor other than the layer of cheese on top. There was no trace of seasoning, not even salt and pepper.
The one thing that I absolutely have no flavor complaints about was my burger. The patty was perfectly seasoned, moist and absolutely delicious! It’s the best burger I’ve had in a long time.
My husband said his shrimp and grits were good but he felt like something was off with the grits. They looked the same as the grits in the pork belly appetizer but the consistency of some of it was off, it wasn’t the same throughout the dish but it tasted good in his opinion.
He also loved his drink. I didn’t fully read the description of mine before ordering. My drink was good but the thick layer of egg white foam/froth on top was too much for me. It would have been better with less, and I ended up just leaving some in the glass after I finished the actual liquid of the drink.
Overall I think it’s a great place to try especially if you have a more mellow palate and appreciate milder flavors. I will give it another try because there were alot of drinks, apps and entrees that sounded promising like the pork chop. It also seems like a great place to meet for drinks and apps just don’t come in a large group. They don’t seat groups greater than 8 people per a note on their door. Great service is hard to find at restaurants now a days so I always return to the ones that provide exceptional service even if I don’t think the food is.

This was our first visit to Main & Mill. We were able to get a seat without waiting at 7:30 on a Saturday night. Our waiter was Nathaniel and he did an excellent job during our visit. I had the Main & Mill burger with egg and my wife had the special that night. My burger came out a little under what I ordered and even though I had eaten a 1/3 of it Nathaniel offered to make it right. I didn’t send it back but actually enjoyed it the way it came out. The pork chop was very good and we had the butterscotch Carmel bunt cake with ice cream for dessert. From what we had I was pleased with the portion to price ratio. We will be back again to try some of their other items.
