OMG! This place smells so good! We walked in off the street after walking around in the snow. Dave, the owner is warm and friendly and chatty! We had the best time talking with him about the area and how he ended up in Louisville. I had the vegetable soup. It was so full of veggies and so tasty. My friends had the chicken noodle and beef soups. They both raved about the flavor. Very hearty. The roll are light and fluffy!

I stopped in here with my 2 teenagers after a morning tour of the Louisville Slugger factory. What a great lunch spot! I appreciated the two veggie burger options. I went with the black bean burger, it was delicious! I love the little salad it came with! It was so nice to have some good greens with tomatoes and grapes. I wish we would have thought to ask for them with the balsamic vinaigrette for my kids, but I didn’t notice that was what it came with. No big deal, I ate their salad too. My kids enjoyed their sandwiches and chips. The ambience is nice and the man who took our order was so helpful and kind. I’d definitely eat lunch here again if in the area.

The food we got was top tier! Everything is made with the freshest ingredients, and the owners stressed that they refuse to use processed ingredients (even down to the mayonnaise) in their food. All ingredients are natural/organic, which I can absolutely respect!

If the food being excellent wasn’t enough, the owners were extremely kind. They took the time to ensure a fulfilling, in-depth interaction with each customer, and then even checked in with people afterwards asking how they were doing, how the food was, etc.

Two things really stood out to me, as well: 1) The owners notified me that they refuse to carry ingredients into the next day. They start each day with new, fresh ingredients. Whatever food they do not use for customers, they use for making meals for people at The Healing Place down the road. 2) They have a tablet at the register for you to pay. I 100% expected to see a “Tip” screen, which I was ready to provide, but they let us know that the only tips they would take would be donations to the local animal shelters.

TL;DR: Food was excellent, but the service and genuine care the owners provide are even better. If you’re in Louisville, you must go to the Main Eatery.

After touring the Louisville Slugger Museum it was so nice to walk here, eat a delicious sandwich and relax in the comfortable surroundings (I went up the stairs in the back and had a nice view of the park)

I had the chicken salad sandwich on rye, very delicious and happy that it came with a fabulous green salad with tomatoes and grapes. Reasonably priced, great quality restaurant I would happily visit again!

This place has an amazing atmosphere. The owner (I believe) took our order. He was patient and friendly. He later came around to tables checking on everyone. The building is very neat with different levels and long, hanging plants. When leaving, we were gifted cookies and told how the recipe is from his grandmother. We will definitely be back whenever we’re downtown. Thank you for running a wonderful business.

We are a family of four visiting the nearby museums — Muhammad Ali Center, the Frazier Museum, and Louisville Slugger Museum — and we happened to spot this lovely eatery. So glad we did!

The ambience is warm and welcoming, and we were lucky to get a window seat overlooking the street, which made our meal even more enjoyable. The staff were incredibly friendly, including the chef who came out to serve us, such a personal touch!

The location is very accessible, the prices are reasonable, and the food is genuinely delicious. We ordered the Blue Burger set, and everything tasted fresh with quality ingredients.

A wonderful find for our day out. Highly recommended!

Ok, I straight up loved this place. You can really tell they take pride in their food prep, the cleanliness and the overall welcoming feeling you get here. It is warm and charming with really yummy food!! I had the blue plate special which was a Kentucky ham and swiss. I don’t personally like sweet-cured meats, but had a nice conversation with the gentleman at the register and learned it’s not too sweet, and he was right! It was so good!! And the veggie soup was really flavor-packed. It was a short walk here from the Louisville Slugger Museum and would definitely recommend!
